So why not go ALL the way??

XM Seats will and DO fit onto Xantia runners!! Straight swap - jiggery pokery, I know this because I did a swap once in a Xantia.. Mind you, I was TOO high then and my head was almost out the sunroof, but it was VERY Nice and EVEN more comfey!!!!

the thought is definently in my head.

luckily (at least for fitting into cars) i am short, the problem is that my feet reach the pedals before my arms reach the steering wheel, perhaps due to my laid back seating position too

so, the steering column, if i am reading this right now and read it wrong last night, the xm one indeed extends further towards the driver, then this is something i would like to do. and i wonder if the xantia steering wheel can be bolted on, i'm also quite fond of the small steering wheel now.

I can't recall now who has done this now but I've seen an early non airbag
"flat" Xantia steering wheel fitted onto an Xm!! Maybe on club-xm!!? :?

<<edit>> Deanxm - am I correct in thinking it's you? ;)

I hate having the horn on the centre of the steering wheel - stupid place
and a bugger to toot thankyou's to people when they give way to you etc
You toot people to say thank you Andrew?
The only time I ever use the horn is if someones just cut me up dangerously and I'm mad, then a good thump down on the steering wheel center feels very satisfying.

Having the steering wheel come out towards the driver would indeed be really nice thing to have, I often find my arms are stretching to reach the wheel, whilst the rest of me has found a nice comfy position. I also drive rather laid back ;)

Ah yes, I see where you are - tooting's some quaint thing that only happens
out here in the provinces!

I'm pretty sure the Xm column will fit! I'll have a play around asap.

It is a shame that Citroen have departed from the dual-horn custom.
Nice discreet little toot to alert/acknowledge people and a million decibel blast to shift idiots out of the way.

On the subject of horns, that was the biggest issue for me when I ran a MK1 and a MK2 at the same time.

I could never find the horn on the MK2  That and the radio controls being in different places...

Daft really but that was a major off-put for me. I suppose if I ran two MK2s it would have been OK :?

Alex Lester on his early morning Radio 2 show had a big discussion going on about designing the ultimate British car and one thing that came out was a dual-horn...
