And back to reservoir cap and air, reading that documentation I seen that pun have direct air intake pipe so from me this confirm that reservoir cap it is hermetic and don't allow air & LDS to enter/escape.
Looking at such drawings I have for a S1 pump I cannot see any direct air intake pipe and the reservoir cap definitely has a breather valve so there appear to be differences between S1 S2 and in which case I would not expect your reservoir to pressurise and may even run at a slight vacuum which I would not have thought good from the perspective of pump feed.

Ah! Your drawing does not agree with mine, the pump drawing is identical BUT Item 6 marked Air Intake IS NOT an air intake it is actually the main pump suction input and is so marked on my drawing, i.e should and does go to the bottom of the reservoir.
