Years ago before they became defunct, I always used to mistake the
headlight sidelight pattern of a Cx and Gs in the dark with the rather
less glamorous or attractive Triumph Acclaim and Mini Metro!
The old Jag XJ40 used to confuse me too. No other cars had the same
footprint of lights when seen head on in the dark.

Good news somewhat.....CitroJim wrote:The camera lies Vince She's not that good close-up you know.... She still looks like she was a cat's favourite scratching post in a previous life...vince wrote: Jim the V6 is looking rather flash 8)
Any news on that subject Vince?vince wrote: Its a good job i didnt set off to come down what with the problems i discovered on saturday
I started her tonight after checking the oil level which is still ok and has stopped dripping onto the drive and the idle is back to normal....with no smoke
Thats not to say that it wont happen again when i actually drive it but it does sound like the cam seal as the level has dropped to the point that it has stopped leaking 8)
The coolant was very low (hope it hasnt been burnt through a failing head gasket) but the car always runs great on temperature and i must admit i have never checked the coolant since i bought it I couldnt get the plastic tube out and so couldnt see how much was in it so just left it
After speaking to Jim tonight i gave it some welly and out it came Its now topped back up
Its off to the garage either tomorrow night or the morning after so fingers crossed it will be something not so major
