No worries Kev, it all came a bit unglued toward the end. I failed miserably to bid farewell to some new and very pleasant acquaintances. A few old ones too
Richard's talk was both disappointing and encouraging. Nothing much that can't be put right but as you say, rusted rear subframes are a killer.
The CX is a magnificent car though. I can't really decide which model I like the best, the primary options at the minute being the 2.2 Athena and the 2.5 Prestige.
A very nice Athena with Alfa-Romeo wheels that suit it well.
The winning CX Prestige ColinXM's showpiece. Fantastic example.

I know I somehow missed you Steve before I went Hopew you had a good trip home. It was an excellent rally and great to see friends old and new. The CX and XM crowd are an incredibly friendly collection and that made the rally brilliantmyglaren wrote:No worries Kev, it all came a bit unglued toward the end. Thanks Steve for delivering the wheels
The CX talk was interesting but Graeme (who writes the CX column in the Citeronian) will disagree on the subframe. He's described how to sort it although it's a lot of work. In my mind, a rusty sunroof is the real showstopper on the CX.
My favourite was the very early bronze one. Magical...
Got me thinking about my next project now.... Noooooo stop!

Yes, very pleasant trip home and I discovered that the rather urgent and insistent signal from the satnav was speed cameras! . All was well though. (I hope).
The guy on the bike was the one from NADS, looking for me - I was in the clubhouse waiting to collect my prizes - that somehow never materialised.
Roger seemed to know his stuff but there were one or two who thought that the subframe problem seemed to be exaggerated. I wouldn't care to say one way or the other but would be comfortable buying a car from him (not the Bristol, a touch pricey!).
As you say, a very friendly and helpful gathering, nice people all.
Edited to change the name.

He runs a Xantia V6 as his daily driver. Says a lot about V6s really as he also sells SMs, XMs, Maseratis and other assorted exotica besides CXs.red_dwarfers wrote:Thats the chapDickieG wrote:Do you mean Roger Bradford, a well spoken chap, greying hair?
One of the CXs on his stand (the one with the personalised plate) is his own and he vows never, ever to part with it.

A few shots I managed to take, had hoped to take more on Sunday but it wasn't to be.
And just to show you can fit a Xantia bonnet in a Xantia boot...

Not my fault you didn't get there early enough and left too soonred_dwarfers wrote:Looks like the Xantia Estate was made to carry bonnets
I see you didn't take any pictures of my Xantia Xac
Danielle spotted there's a Scottish rally thing next year (or is it the year after) that sounds like it'd make a great road trip. Xantia convoy up the M1 anyone?

I wonder if thats the ICCCR rally? If so I think that one is in 2012 by which point it may have to be a Xantia and XM convoyXac wrote: Danielle spotted there's a Scottish rally thing next year (or is it the year after) that sounds like it'd make a great road trip. Xantia convoy up the M1 anyone?
