Hang on a minute, both Paul and Mike refer to a 50 pin round plug. My round plug has only 30 pins, of which only 16 are populated.

Hi MikeT

I have sourced a PSA 30 pin plug just in-case I needed to make up a lead.
Was some while ago so I cannot remember which scrap yard or car model gave it up. As I get the chance I will go actively looking to see if I can find out and get some more.
From the adverts I have identified at least 3 different types of PSA 30 pin lead amongs the Chinese clones. It seems if a 30 pin PSA lead is going to be needed then it is best to buy a Lexia with one in the kit to ensure it is compatible.
I am based mid Hampshire.

Thanks to Steve (Steel City) I found the fault, it was item 3 in my list of possibles - operator error. I simply wasn't pushing the socket into the diagnostic plug hard enough! It does need a fair amount of force, more than I am normally happy about using on a plastic part.

Still, I now have working Lexia3 and Proxia3 programs. :D
