Do also check the wiring harnesses between the gearbox and ECU for damage.

i have the following error codes on my bva-al4 gearbox any help please
63-66-71-76 there only temp faults?

I'd remove the battery and then break, check and clean where necessary, the connector to the gearbox ECU and the connector onto the transmission as a first step. If this does not help, the finger of suspecion must point to the multifunction switch, given the last error code. It is certainly electrical.

I have some generic circuits of ther AL4 and heaps of other useful information besides. I cannot post it as it's all in a big PDF file. If you want to email me, I'll send you the document in a reply email.

Having this document will allow further fault finding.
You could go onto the citroenservice web site and for the princely sum of 4.5 euro's download the schematics for your particular car, but Jim's data is probably better value for money :-)

EDIT
As an afterthought both EV's shorted to positive could indicate a poor ground return related to them.
