Good guess as I do have a steering wheel airbag only it's not a sensor, it's connector that is not plugged into anything other than a blank cover.
According to my nephew, it bears the marks
J70318E01 though he's dyslexic so take it with a pinch or five
It's time for "guess that part" again

Seems that last one was just too hard. In contrast this should be very easy for anyone that's been there - forgetti the extra spaghetti, what's that box? I'm 80% sure I know but might as well have it confirmed. Additionally, would it be ok to use one of it's corner nuts as an earthing post for two low current switches and relay coils?
Mike, that number on the unidentified part behind the bumper looks suspiciously like a part number. The E01 bit is what makes me think that but nothing shows up on Service Citroen. As you say, chance it could be wrong though.
That box is the airbag ECU, not sure about using the bolt as an earth but don't see why not.

I will try and get the number confirmed as well as more detail about wire the loom goes.Toby_HDi wrote:Mike, that number on the unidentified part behind the bumper looks suspiciously like a part number.

That was my guess though I assumed it also incorporates the pyrotechnic pre-tensioners too? I think I read on here that relay coils produce EMF as they collapse making me wonder if the relay earth lead might somehow trigger something it shouldn't?DickieG wrote:That's the airbag ECU trigger box, I can't see a problem with using one of its securing post's. BTW what's the additional wiring/relay for?
The extra wiring/relays is for some more controls and gauges etc. I don't want to overload the 11 year old OE stuff.
