They are a different texture of plastic so that looks fine to me, certainly 100% better than the grey/brown coloured ones.

I'm looking forward to seeing this again too 8-)

Been exceedingly busy recently with work, wedding plans etc!

Didnt manage to make it to the rally in the end, what I thought was a small piece of welding that would take me Saturday to do on the xm, turned out to take me all weekend. I did not fancy driving to the x rally with part of my floor missing!

Photos below, but Xm owners if you jacking point has been bent at any point by morons (ie kwik fit) then be afraid.......

So now the welding is done as of today the Xm has another years grace on this earth!

Really sorry not to see you at the Rally Dave but with a big hole in the floor it might have been a bit draughty!!!

Looks like an excellent job you’ve done!

And what's all this about weddings?

Well at least you know it's done now. Have you treated the metal with some thick gooey underseal on both sides?

Wedding plans! Well I never! Have you decided the most important part yet? The cars? All the best with the planning Dave and missus.

Me and Jim scrub up well in suits!

I have a funny feeling that a CX Prestige or a DS might be on the cards for Dave. The XM might remind him too much of hard work  If you're after something a bit different, a friend of mine does 2CV weddings cars. Quite popular they are too.

I think an XM reminds us all of hard work and spilt blood Kev

I've been quite lucky in that respect. Apart from maybe the sunroof leak. I will get to the bottom of that, logic will win the day eventually.

Kev, on that subject, have you seen Will's posting on Club-XM on what he did with the sunroof on his cobalt car? It's been a good success by the looks of it. I rode in it on Sunday and it seemed nice and dry...

Ah yes that old chestnut. I did did the whole rebonding glass thing last year. I reckon my technique wasn't quite up to scratch to be honest. We'll see what it's like this year and if it hasn't settled I'll give it another go.

Been a ridiculous amount of time since I updated!
Been rather busy, got married in July had a honeymoon and we are now in the process of buying a house.
Also rebuilt and powder coated the GPZ so have been enjoying that.
Didn't manage to make it to any rallies this year so will try and make up for it in 2014, however the honeymoon in the Maldives did just about make up for it.

The new house should mean I can actually do some work on the cars as It has a large garage.

The Xm has struggled along It blew a rear hydraulic pipe a month or so ago, luckily I had enough pipe to replace the entire 3.5mm rear pipe, but need to get some more pipe to replace the 4.5mm pipe too as that looks rather corroded.
Hopefully early next year ill be removing some small bits such as the rear subframe to be powder coated.
The steering system will need a massive overhaul too as I think it is knackered and I'm sure it needs a new rack. At the same time I will replace all the bushes and joints I can get my hands on.

I'm really hoping to get the Cx ready for at very least next years Cxm, we shall see! I have the technology but not the time, too much studying!

Good to hear fro you Dave :-D

Congrats on getting married :P

Good to see you're buying a house and have got your priorities right. A decent garage is critical and the most important aspect of all when it comes to buying a house..

That and the kitchen...
