That is a bit carless parking, though you see they are not Audis, they are in one space!
Looking at the state the cars are in maybe an Audi driver put them there after having a few goes at it

Sadly facilities do not allow, I have a council rented garage which the Xm takes up completely so if I got the engine out I would have no-where to put it!

Well the Xm needed immedite attention the other day as the Dosseur valve started leaking! Luckily it was only the protective rubber boot that need replacing as it had perished!
Sod of a job to get to it but simple compared to some I suppose.

I got the alternator bearings replaced only to find that that was not the cause of the squeeking!!!!
ARGHHH

So having replaced every single component driven by the auxillary belt, the last one is the air conditioning compressor so this must be rogered.
So thats next on the hit list!

Arrived back yesterday after a little raid into France (I say little I went to near stasbourg!).
The Cx will definatly have a leather interior now!!
The Xm has earned its keep for a while, it was absolutly flawless!
I had to replace the fuel filter as the veg killed it, but thats routine. Other than that with cruise control on she happily cruised at 80mph the whole way!
The suspension did flick into hard a quite a bit, so ill be taking the ECU apart to investigate further, bu when it was in normal mode she rode very well.
Very pleased with it at the moment which makes a nice change.

That's interesting then Dave - GTi Turbo 2 Leather seats (red piping) however it's got GTi Auto headrests on the front, and no headrests on the rear. :?

I spy Beige Leather too - where'd you find them then?!! :-D

The Head is off!!!!!
Image

Need to remove injectors, and the tensioner still, and probably the fuel heater.

Someone has obvioulsy replaced the two easy glowplugs at somepoint but left in the two behind the pump! So god knows how crap they are.
Here is a picture of the gasket.

Image

It is a steel one and has two notches, so any advice on replacement wwould be appreciated. I thought the gaskets were not steel and thats why they went?
Or am I being thick?
Having read a few posts it seems the MLS is the one to go for on replacement?
More questions.....
Is it worth getting the valves reground whilst its being done?

Need to replace some engine mountings too as a couple of them are mush.
