Had a quick look under the Xm yesterday as the MOT is coming up soon.
Was rather gutted to see that the new track rod ends i put on are knackered because the rubber gaitor has split!
I assume it is because they are cheap crap, has anyone had any similar experiences?
Got a bodyshop to look at the Cx also with a view to disposing of the sunroof. After discussing with them, it left me undecided as to whether I should
Keep chasing rust or pay a big(very big) chunk and get them to strip it and make it like new again!
Lots of saving needed if I go that way!

Hi Dave, if it doesn't devalue the car then it could become a great selling point in years to come? Is there no way you could cover a good repair with a vinyl roof, 70's style? It would be cheaper than a top paint finish perhaps?

I didnt report back after the MOT!
As expected it failed on the track rod end with split rubber, so a quick changeover and she passed!
Since then I havent used it much, as it stays in hard mode and is back jarringly uncomfortable.
I used it yesterday and noticed a dreaded LHM leak, which I have traced back to the brake master cylinder. So fingers crossed
I only need the protective boot bit, although if I can find all the seals I will try to do the lot.
at the same time I think ill sort the ARB bushes, although I have dont know where to jack the car up as I cant use the jacking points and the subframe needs to be lowered!
I think ill use the Cx for a couple of weeks whilst I work on the Xm!

It doesn't appear that your XM likes you much Dave, you seem to have more than your fair share of issues with it
How the XM estate coming along?

You don't seem to have too much luck with the XM's issues Dave...
Imagine if you had an Activa...!

Good to hear that you're still using the CX though.

Just what do you mean by that comment young man?

I'll have you know an Activa is fully reliable. As surely as night follows day...

Besides, cars would be boring if they didnt need some attention every so often.

That is a bit carless parking, though you see they are not Audis, they are in one space!DickieG wrote:Something like this?robert_e_smart wrote:I know what I would do with it if it was my Xm...
