Dave, yours looks about right to me.
Due to paralax, it is hard to tell from the photos exactly where it is.
On my Mk1 V6, I refitted the exhaust a couple of months ago, and if you sight across the car, just in front of the front silencer, the bottom edge of the pipe is about 15mm above the line of the lowest parts of the bodywork on either side.
On my Mk2 V6, the exhaust is hanging about 50mm lower (probably a little lower than foolz').

From my own experience I would agree with DickieG that it would benefit from loosening off a quick twist and retighten.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

Hi Ian and All,
Thank you so much for posting those pics, and thanks to everyone else for confirmation that all seems to be ok with the cat. The new mid pipe and box are great- I don't seem to be waking the neighbours when I get in late anymore!
I can see now that there seems to be an oversized cat there (maybe the right size for amount of exhaust gas flow needed?) as compared to the cavity space available in the bodywork for the cat. I'm much relieved to see that another one looks just like mine.
Cheers!
Dave (V6).
