Funny you said cake. I felt really guilty today that I didn't have any cakes or other snacky stuff to offer you yesterday

Don't be daft man. Knowledge and a good natter is good enough. I can bring cake, and Chris is up North. Maybe he can bring us a decent pie or two!

Never heard of them and only live 20 miles from Chris.

Looks good to me, though I was eating stuff like this out in Brazil 10 years. Ago. It matters not, bring some, and some pies. I'll eat just about anything other than large pieces of raw tomato.

A bit like that well-known Scottish delicacy, the deep-fried Mars bar then?

Umm, Stottie Cake sounds interesting. Had to look that one up on Wikipedia

Oi!!!! Oi!!!!!! [-X

The deep fried Mars Bar was invented in Barnsley. [-X

The fad died quickly in Yorkieland but the Scots have taken it to their hearts (literally!) and now deep fry other chocolate bars. :yikes:

Personally the very thought of eating choccy deep fried in batter makes me feel ill. :puke: There you go.....

Hmmm. Stottie cakes? Right up there with another non-Yorkshire delicacy. The Barm Cake. That's from Lancashire!

There are places around here who sell fried and battered mars bars and others too. It just sounds wrong to me so I have not tried one
