RP number = replacement parts number. Basically its a number that identifies the day the car was built, it can be found on the label by the door that has the tyre pressures on it.
Before RP 9491 the C5 used DPX42 fluid after that they use Eolys 176 fluid. I'd say an 03 plate would almost certaially use the later type with the 75k intervals.
When they changed to the mk2 C5 & other later models it gets even more confusing.

Looked at the sticker and there is 2 numbers on it
09639CJ
10395
EZRC**

Also looked in the service book and that says 50,000 for the particle filter and Eolys, think it might be a call to the stealers to fine out for sure but then they did sell me the wrong wiper blades for it so will they get this right.

Would one of these work with my C5 and would i need it to reset the counter if it has one?

Your RP no is 9639 which means the additive tank gets refilled at 75,000 miles & the filter exchanged also. The 50,000 mile intervals are based on the older system.

Im in chatham in kent, not far from East sussex.

I am thinking about getting a Maxidiag FR704 anyway, will come in handy for my car and the Santa Fe the OH has, My C5 has an airbag fault which i know is the wiring under the drivers seat but would be good to be able to check that is the only fault.

Will my car have the counter or the level switch????

hi guys, well i took the car to citroen today, they pluged it in and told me that the particluat filter was at fault but also the turbo was showing higher pressure than normal and would need to be replaced, well i am new to diesels but i have owned a number i high powered jap turbo cars, surly if the particulate filter is block then that in its self would cause the pressure to be higher in the system.

anyway does any body know if the filter can be cleaneed as they wanted £400 to replace and has anybody els had the same problem as me and should i be looking for a new turbo aswell.

Thanks David

Yes you are correct malcom it is just as easy as you said to change the fap filter there are also 2 pipes to undo as well
as for the turbo pressure (hard to diagnose without seeing the data)
i would say that the turbo is over boosting due to the wastegate not operating correctly possibly a vacume leak on the pipework or inop electro valve

hi, were would i manager to get a filter that cheap, the only one i have seen was £400, and as for the turbo, its not over-boosting and it spools up fine, it sounds fine to me could it just not be that because of the filter blocked its having trouble with back pressure.

thanks david

FAP / Turbo Overpressure

Post by cachaciero »

As regards the filter I have read of people successfully cleaning these with a pressure washer, other wise your options are as previously stated.

Turbo overpressure see posts on 2.2hdi Economy thread, I doubt that it is the Turbo at fault.
