ABS works when it's not supposed to.

Weird one this. ABS light has been on and off whilst driving for several months now. When it's on, the brakes work fine, only no abs presumably, but when the light stays out I dread low speed braking as it kicks in with all the usual noise and bouncing pedal behaviour.

Any ideas anyone? Knackered sensor, or something more sinister?

Apart from the back box parting company with the main pipe last Friday, this has been the only fault I've had to endure in nearly 11,000 miles and 8 months of ownership. Absolutely fantastic car!

If you do a search on the forum this very subject was covered in detail (with a solution) a couple of years ago.
