On a MK2 steering wheel the airbag is a different shape, also there are twice as many radio controls and some of them perform different functions so I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope that they are compatible but I'm hoping for you!

There are several topics on this if you do a search, do you have the loom?

Looks kinda similar to how my old TD looked but without the leather! I have a set of Mk1 Activa door panels if you want them? Great cars the TD's especially with a little bit of luxury added!

I thought the airbag looks different & it has the horn button built in on mk2. Oh well looks like ill have to keep my eye out for a mk1 steering wheel. I might have a crack on bank hol weekend to see if it will work though.

How come the mk2 doorcards wont fit mk1, is the curve that fits the dash different? If they won't go in ill have that set off you xantiaman :D

The seats are very easy to wire up, its a simple positive/negative wire. With heated seats theres an extra positive wire. I had to change the wiring plugs on the seatbelt pre tensioners too, easy enough job though.

Found out today my heated elements in both seats work albeit not very hot compared to what they should be!

Mot time today, Passed but failed

Brake pipe f/r is corroded, not excessively but have been told to sort it.

Got the part number off citroen service site, dealers were f'in useless on fone (when they actually answered) & couldnt give me a price as they couldnt use there own service website  Had to take the 28 mile round trip & 45 mins in there to sort it.

In the end i forked out the £60 for the pipe, pants down!

The pipe is coming from the dealers in stoke, Its out of stock in france & on back order. Thye reckon it could take a while to come from france too which would have been a nightmare!

As its a 3.5mm pipe, im assuming i will need a couple of seals? Ill be ordering them from gsf, cant be chewed with the dealers no more!

I hate to say it, having forked out 60 notes for the pipe, but that was the wrong thing to do  It will be an absolute mare to fit, over the rear subframe - in fact you might have to drop the subframe... It would have been much cheaper (like about £50...) to buy a Kunifer pipe, and it would have been about 97 times easier to fit

I usually make my own pipes up on a normal system, can you get the fittings seperate for these? Are special tools needed to flare the ends?

Yes you can get the fittings, but maybe not at your local factors - GSF might sell them, otherwise try Plaeides (Martin posts on here). You need a special tool to make the ends of the pipe - again try Plaeides, or ebay. Plaeides will make you a pipe up and send it out to you if tell them what size and how long.

Ill bear that in mind if i need to do another.

This pipe will have to go on now though as i have bent over & paid up for it

Cant see it being too hard though, access looks poor but do-able. Cant be no harder than the clio williams i done the brakepipes on recently, total ball ache as things that were in the way couldnt be removed.

Changed the f-r brake pipe today, what a chore on. took the best part of the day to do, had to lower the front subframe for access on n/s. Old pipe were good enough imo, i should have cleaned it up before test....

Well on the plus side the brakes are better after a good bleed. Now all i need to do is get the lhm out of my hair...

Well got my grinding noise sorted, O/s driveshaft intermediate bearing had given up. For a moment i thought the box was on its last legs so happy its ok!

Popped down the scrappy today as i had a couple of hours to kill before the driveshaft turned up.

Seen a mk1 1.8 16v xantia estate with 56k, bodywork looked mint, Hdi exclusive with mint bodywork & heated leather in vgc on w reg & turbo d mk1 with good bodywork....all better than mine to be fair, seemed a shame to see them in the yards for sure. Shame all had been lifted with the forklift!

Well at least i got my leather armrest out of the exclusive for a fiver so its all good! Also got a few plip keys, the 56k one works like new! :D

Another week another part has given up.

Went down to silverstone for rws yesterday, all was going well until i pulled up in traffic & heard a mega rattle coming from engine bay!

Had a quick look & the rattle is coming from the air con compressor :(

Either the clutch/bearing has gone or the unit is on its last legs. The aircon doesn't work at the moment & the pump wont kick in so i assume all the gas has leaked.

Got friday off work & hopefully it will hold out until then!
