I ran my Xantia TD for two years on a 50/50 mix of oil/diesel, both used and fresh.
Just bunged it straight in the tank at a fill up and away we went, 50,000 miles with zero problems.
It even sailed through an MOT running on used parsnip frying oil from the nursing home round the corner!
RIP, old girl

Diesel/veg weighs approx 0.8Kg per litre.
So the 65L tank is 52Kg
The 164L boot tank is only £130ish Kg.
That's only two average British women.
So the question is, who uses their Xantias mostly with their partner and kids in the car and what economy do they get compared with those of us who mostly drive alone?
I doubt it actually makes that much difference, I know driving around with 250Kg of sand in my boot didn't impact the economy noticably, but did make a vast improvement on the ride comfort.

I will do that mod.. only problem, the barrels go back to the oilman.. a breather hole is a mod I will need to ask him about.. it will help any future users of the barrel even if the just pour into a funnel...
so what I need is an oil proof cap that wont come of in transit...
I have one idea.. the plastic plugs that seal the valves on LPG bottles, to keep rain out.. they are lightweight, plastic, will thread ok..
