Hi Guys,

I have made a internet transfer for Jon's payback fund.

It's a VERY small price to pay for the invaluable advice and support this site gives it's members.

I think even if it were £5 a month as weete sugested it would still be a small price to pay for access to so much knowledge and assistance.

I and I am sure many others would like to say a very big THANK YOU to all those involved with keeping this site up and running in every aspect.

Thanks again.

Rob: On behalf of Jon and the admins and mods may I say I that am very grateful for your kind words.

Thanks also for your generosity and support for both the payback and forum funds.

These are indeed extraordinarily useful and informative forums. I have learned loads and saved a small fortune these past few years.

If you can't find what your are looking for in the vast archives you are sure to get a sympathetic and informative answer to your problem by asking online.

Where Haynes gives up we carry on.

It's perhaps a somewhat crass question from the floor, but I felt it merited open air discussion rather than PM status:

How are the two funds shaping up in terms of pledges vs actualisation?

I'd rather know now, if the givers should be tipping in for another round, rather than see one of those "Unexpectedly, the Forum is experiencing a cash shortfall..." type of posts later in the year...

Regards, Adam.

The Forum Hosting Fund balance sheet in anonymous form can be viewed here.
http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... hp?t=26053
This is updated frequently. Each contributor is issued with an account number by email as their first payment is received so they can follow their own contributions especially useful for those paying monthly...this also serves as a form of automatic transparent auditing. At £213.90 we are well ahead of target with payments from 26 individuals but I expect many more standing orders to commence throughout February. It's looking good.

The separate Payback Fund for Jon's benefit is also looking very good with only 4 more contributions needed to reach the target of 50. I should say that I have absolutely no access to either Jon's personal bank account or his personal Paypal account at webmaster@bxclub.co.uk so it's quite possible that some people have actually contributed without informing me and we may have surpassed the target already. Indeed 2 people actually contacted me wondering why their names had not appeared on the list so there may well be more.

Regards
David

I've not been following the progress since inception so am unsure exactly where I stand. I sent John £20 to go towards his out-of-pocket expenses and I also agreed to contribute towards future annual hosting costs. The £20 was intended to be split £10 for each cause but John is welcome to keep the whole £20 if only to save him the hassle of forwarding the other £10 and then finding another donor to cover it. So I now need to setup a S.O. or preferably just make a one-off annual payment. What's the current procedure for this - I've just saved £70 on my gas bill 8) and am feeling rather flush right now.

BUMP

As this thread is so important, and gives us updates on the forum support, could it be made a sticky to keep it at the top, and so it does not get displaced by other posts.

Yes, that's why I bumped it because, I felt guilty about displacing it!

This is actually the Payback Fund setup to at least partly pay back Jon's generosity in single handedly funding both the BXC and FCF hosting fees up until recently. It aims to raise £500 from 50 people @ £10 each. I am pleased to report we now have 48 donors just 2 short of our target of 50. Please feel free to bump it as often as you want (or anyone else) --- your names attached to it will give it added appeal. :D

The Forum Hosting Fund is quite separate and is indeed a sticky in the Announcements section at,
