I've heard this one before, never knew what it was called, but it certainly is addictive

Thanks for that, gld, interesting link/vid - those lips were pretty cool. I like the BB original too, rather like, but pre-dating, Duffy's stand there and do nothing 'dancing'.

Then there is Nâdiya with Amies ennemies.
Strange girl, former Olympic champion runner.
Not her best song but that one doesn't actually show her in the video.

And the rather obvious Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg - 'Je T'aime... Moi Non Plus' http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sHiMDB19D ... re=related

But don't forget Frankie Howerd and June Whitfield... laughalong...

There is also the rather fine Natasha StPier, I like her Quand on cherche l'amour.

She is Canadian but lives in France, as is Mylène Farmer, technically.

And Desireless' Voyage Yoyage referred to above, nice covers by Kate Ryan and Gregorian

Kate Ryan is OK but hasn't the bite in her voice that Desireless has.

Gregorian's has a whole different approach. You may recognise the girl there - Sarah Brightman's sister Amelia.

Good links especially the first two.
I like Natasha St-Pier's voice --- very pure.
I see she once represented France in the Eurovision.

Oh well, anyone can make a mistake. I'm sure we won't hold that one against her :)

It is a shame really that Citroens aren't made in China, like Rover.

Then I would have the perfect excuse to drag the excuisite Zhao Cong into this thread.

Here she is playing lead pipa with the magnificent Twelve Girls Band (of which there are thirteen :) 春江花月夜 美女 琵琶 演奏家 赵聪 音乐视频 在线观看 (Zhao Cong is in the beautiful white dress)

If that is a bit too traditional, she does a whole load of other stuff, like 琵琶 - 新編 十面埋伏 - 趙聰 (Ambushed from ten sides) which you may recognise from "House Of Flying Daggers"

And some pleasant Jazz.
She comissioned and patented that "Glass" Pipa?

She looks as serene and inscrutible as you would expect a Chinese woman to be, but at the same time looks a minx, full of devilment

If only I could get may mitts on her albums and DVDs. Anyone going to China soon :?: :D

But sadly they are still made in France, so that's a lost cause

Well here's a French connection where she plays Habanera from Bizet's Carmen.
She gets quite carried away towards the end.

She really is very talented.

Here is another charmer from a bygone age giving a more traditional rendition.

and finally there is even a motoring connection borrowed from Carmen
