I'd love to Toby but sadly I'll be the other end of the country this weekend picking up an autobox for my V6 on the way to Geordieland.
Shame the car is not up that way
Have a good read of the Activa buyers guide and that should allow you to spot anything really out of order on the Activa-specific bits. For everything else, treat it as a normal Xantia..
Good luck and I hope it all goes good!

Double vision or what! WITH A SUNROOF etc etc etc
I actually felt really sad after reading this - anyone here? Wish I could try and help you mate!?
Are you going to let this into the clutches of the nasty evil Activa Despatchers?
Andrew
Might be worth a punt for someone, as this Marianne could be faithfull! From ebay listing...........
"I do hope that some enthusiastic mechanic takes Marianne and lavishes a little love and attention on her."
Also it should be kept from the dispatchers!!
Don't you just wish the dispatchers would just pug off!

Well, I am still tempted, it's come a week too early if I'm honest as I need the money to get the HDi through a MOT. I also have my eye on a V6 Exclusive too which is also a pullandmcit wrote:So Toby. Are you going to tell us all anything!?
Andrew
I've not arranged a viewing as yet as the seller can not be free when I am so that is making things awkward.
Fear not...I will tell you all if I end up with another Xantia

Thought that was my old Activa for a split second, since mine was N236 RVC and thats N231 RVC. Mine was originally owned by Citroén , maybe this one was too, group registration?andmcit wrote:NOOOOOOOOOOOO - I really REALLY fancy it but I really REALLY MUSTN'T!!
I like Activae with sunroofs... 8)
Here's one with AC AND a sunroof!!

Goddammit, thinking about it, I'd swap either of my two Activae that don't
have sunroofs if I could. Can't go buying it in the hope I can be strong
willed about selling one of mine though.
It's CJM number could almost be saying citrojim - so Jim, are you interested!?
So, anyone here going to spare it from a grisly end?
Did I mention it's a rare sunroof Activa? Think so.

Not a Activa for sale but...
Today i passed a met. red Xantia, it looked in great condition and as it was coming towards me i noticed it had headlamp washers, so an Exclusive i thought, however it had Activa wheels and a rear spoiler. So an Activa with winter pack?
It was a Y reg Xantia in the nice metallic red colour, typical Activa colour. I have never noticed such a late model before.

The thing is, did it have an Activa badge?
I ask because I have seen so many Xantae that have had a rear spoiler fitted, and they do look better with it! 8)
Also so many cars have had Activa rims, that it's a similar problem to what was experienced in the past, when Ford brought out the Escort Eclipse which had XR3 rims, or similar sized rims, so viewed from the front it appeared to have big boots.
Also the front spot lights, rear spoiler, and XR3 front bumper were also fitted to this model, which again made it look like a XR3, so you had to look close, and check the badge to see if it was the real thing, like the cars that can appear to be an Activa.
They do say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery!
Which is nice for the car, (Activa) that takes the corners flatter!!

Possibly not
I pasted it going the other way, so didnt get a good look, but the Activa rims were obvious, and the headlamp washers, so it was either one of the very last Activas - with the winter pack or an Exclusive with activa wheels and spoiler.
Either way, it was very nice 8)

Xantiaman583's 1.9TD Xantia is a dead-ringer for an Activa, even to it being in Dantes' Red The interior too is pure Activa.. Actually it's an LX!
My 2.1TD has Activa wheels and looks like a VSX. It's just a Temptation
I saw a post on the BXC where someone had stuck an Activa badge on the back of a BX...
My V6 is a poverty -spec exclusive. Non-heated leather seats and no headlamp washers It does have cruise control though but strangely, no rear spoiler. I agree Activa, Xantias do look better with a spoiler. Anyone got a spare one in Maritius Blue?
I've seen a Y reg Xantia in Dantes' Red. One used to live in the next street but I've not seen it now in about three years. That one, if I recall, was a 1.8 petrol LX.

There's a Dantes' Red Y reg Xantia 1.8 SX I always see parked on the same street as my local MaplinCitroJim wrote: I've seen a Y reg Xantia in Dantes' Red. One used to live in the next street but I've not seen it now in about three years. That one, if I recall, was a 1.8 petrol LX.

I saw an Xantia parked near the door as I went into the supermarket, and because I am used to the Activa size tyres on Activae, it made me look closer at the boots on that Xantia, which appeared to look too small (undertyred) as by comparison they are tiny, and don't fill the arches.red_dwarfers wrote:There's a Dantes' Red Y reg Xantia 1.8 SX I always see parked on the same street as my local MaplinCitroJim wrote: I've seen a Y reg Xantia in Dantes' Red. I think they were 175's, and the car was probably a 1.8, also in red!

Hehe, that's true, "normal" Xantia looks very skinny next to an Activa, due to both the tyres and the missing rear spoiler.ACTIVE8 wrote: I saw an Xantia parked near the door as I went into the supermarket, and because I am used to the Activa size tyres on Activae, it made me look closer at the boots on that Xantia, which appeared to look too small (undertyred) as by comparison they are tiny, and don't fill the arches.
