Been a while since i've updated

Well the activa now has 300miles more on herself since the last MOT and passed the last one with flying colours only needing an ABS sensory before hand :)

I've still not put the new dash centre in or gotten hold of a replacement air inlet hose but no rush on that as the current fix will suffice and if it comes to it i'll get a silicone one made up with corrugations in it to help take the engine flex. Rear spheres are still low on pressure but are fine for the driving it gets but will be replaced at some point once other projects are done :)

The XM is not far off 222k now with the last 30k being on 90%+ veg/WMO/other fluids that can go in the tank.
The interior fan had always been intermittent and the other day finally threw in the towel being unresponsive to the control panel. Checked the engine bay fuse panel and the interior one, the big connections to the fan seem to be getting 12-15v so im guessing its the motor itself so will be having fun sometime soon removing it and testing it and if its failed get it reconditioned and see about doing the transistor pack while its out, unless i find a new genuine motor in a dealer very cheaply....
Shes got her MOT in a few weeks and i know she needs a droplink or two... So got some cheap NOS ones from ebay and some future spares, also have some new rear spheres to fit and a flexi section to replace the back box which looked ratty all the time and im sure has partially collapsed inside from age. Exhausts seem to be quite consumable on the 2.5 :( There is also some water use going on but no apparent leaks so im topping up about 1/2 every 1000miles at the minute which isn't dramatic useage and fingers crossed when i get the forte stop leak delivered should cure that issue.

fingers crossed for more fun XM and Activa miles :)

Excellent Will, really good to see an update on your fleet..

Fan motor will likely be brushes.. A Xantia one may substitute but I have a funny feeling the XM one may run the opposite way... Not sure now if I'm confusing that with the 406. I know one does..

Yeah ive seen it before and i think Paul confirmed they spin in the opposite direction....

Would mean some faff swapping the fan blade section over but could be do-able by just swapping the positive and negative over maybe as well?

Or would swapping the motor itself out of the unit be the best bet?

I was quite surprised how long its been since i updated the fleet :D The xm just keeps going with only minor niggles that i have lived with up to now and a service every 3 months :)

Yes, fan blades are almost impossible to swap over Will.. I tried once without success. I think it's glued on...
