Ah cool! Cheers Jim :)

I think it's a job for my clean screwix gloves that should protect my hands :) very thick material and some of the best rubber for gloves on one side that I've come across in a long time :)

Three packs ordered :)

I always have one set in the xm with my tools now.

One in the garage and one I gave to my dad to use :)

Well I took a risk and ordered these up :)

Time will tell if they are good and still dim correctly.

Hopefully be useful behind the heater controls as well :)

The dimming is the critical thing and if they are too bright they are coming out and ill use them for the clock and things like gear selector lights and so on, the bits that I need to keep lit during the night so maybe the warning lamps and the middle of the speedo lol

Well today did the second service on the hdi 16v since my dads had it. This wasn't just an oil service though so tried to do the fuel filter.
Would it come loose?! Would it balls and nearly ringed the nut in the top :( turning anti clockwise as well but decided to call it quits before I did some damage. Is there a knack to this as its a different filter housing to the rest I've dealt with?also moved it onto 0w30 fully synth oil as the last one was just some cheap semi synth to clear it out :)

I put a big screwdriver against the knurled ring on the top of the filter housing and tap it with a hammer. I've never failed yet and never broken anything either.

Thanks Davie, gives me a bit more confidence about it as I've seen some posts online about them breaking and don't want to waste £50 on a car that's moving on as soon as the perfect replace appears.

That always worked for me on the estate but after having someone else service this car I couldn't shift it and was in danger of cracking it.

Bought a set of these:

No more problems.

Ahhh that won't fit on the one this 16v has Steve :( no access and the cap/top has no bits to really grab onto other than the forged plastic nut on top and the outlets :(

I've a pair of those. Extremely useful and not only for oil filters either...

I've even used mine to open jars of jam...
