You are now a veteran of the dread clutch clip.. Just a heater matrixcreplacement to go and you will then be a complete bona fide Xantia specialist!

This one is one I've been wanting to watch, the UK version of the other Activa advert. I really can't decide what to think of the yellow stack of cars, the front and sides say early S1 Xantia but the rear and tailgates make me think 405 saloon

Definitely 405's.
That advert got pulled after a single complaint.
Citroen didn't put up that the active suspension wasn't available across the model range.

Another fairly good day today. Dropped the car off to our local well trusted garage yesterday for them to do the clutch, pressure plate, fork bushes and diff seal and replace gearbox oil which I all supplied. Phone call this afternoon and all is well and for a quid under £120

If I didn't hear about the freaky lightnessness on here, I would have thought that the clutch was broken

Its even lighter than our Mk5 Vauxhall Ashtray

Its rather hard trying to get used to it as rather than using my built up left leg muscles I've got to be very careful and relearn the takeup

I asked for the old clutch back, its a Valeo:

My chaps are called Meadowside in Sandford, Crediton, Devon.

Lovely shortish walk/cycle back to the town of Crediton which has regular buses into the main city

Its also the birthplace of St. Boniface who I believe created the first decorated fir tree. Or so the myth says

Nearest one to you that I know of is Centreville a hop, skip and jump from the tunnel.
Never used them but have heard good things about them.

Enjoyed our impromptu meet yesterday Kev

Robyn and I popped down to Somerset yesterday to see the folks and on the way back, called into the Haynes Museum in Sparkford to see if I could get a book I was after.

There was a big rally going on..

Just parked up the V6 and who should appear at the door of my car but Kev

I got the book I was after: The biography of Harry Ricardo, he of of the Ricardo Comet combustion chamber fame as used in XUDs. He's been described as the high priest of internal combustion engines. Should be a cracking read...

Its a small world ain't it!

It was a rare breeds car show. I only recognised a few but it was great to see all of these weird and wonderfull cars along with a look around the haynes museum.
Though directly comparing the both, its all well and good keeping cars in a room never to be moved again and in near spotless condition but it doesn't really excite me. I would prefer to see cars that maybe have a bit of wear and tear but are being used for what they were intended for. Driving about in

Well, I guess a V6 Xantia qualifies as a rare breed

We saw that rotary Mazda on the A303 on our way down in the morning. Wondered what it was at first. It was in stunning condition

We also saw a huge number of Trimph Dolomites out and about all converging on Sparkford I guess. Sadly one was broken down in an A303 layby but he was surrounded by other Dolly owners and an AA van; I reckon the Dolly owners enjoy the same sort of camiadrie as we do

All in all, yesterday was brilliant for spotting many old,and interesting classic cars

Well, the Xantia was treated to a new windscreen yesterday from Phoenix Windscreens at a cost of £115 ex VAT. The scuttle trim came off very easily the chap said, a poor seal the last time it was replaced, though I do agree with him it couldn't have been that bad as I do regularly check under the passenger's footwell and its always been bone dry.
Thats another big job ticked off the list

Last 'big job' is the cambelt then its back to all the little niggly bits and pieces!

Thats not a bad price Kev, was your screen cracked?

The Xm estate needs a new one, it has two small chips and a crack at the very bottom. So need to find somewhere to fit one soon.

Thats a very good price for your clutch too, im amased at the condition of your old one after 200K miles
