Dear oh dear oh dear! Its been a while since my last update hasn't it
I've finally managed to fix the problem I've been having with my NS Front sidelight, right hand rear sidelights and Light on warning system fuse blowing 8)
After testing all the wires and finding some...interesting wiring modifications (there seems to be a buzzer wired in behind the carpet on the OS in the boot next to the cluster of lights that aren't on the tailgate).
It turned out to be a flywire hanging around the fusebox with one of those crimp-on wire splitter jobbies had got caught and chaffed on a nearby ground point. This wire wasn't actually going anywhere so off it came!
I've also noticed that the two front indicators are different colours, the one I changed is amber, whereas the old one is now verging white - so thats due for a change.
As some of you may know, I mashed up my code reading on the Clarion radio I picked up by letting the anger of the day get the better of me and getting hasty. I really should have waited until I felt a lot more patient.
This weekend I have been doing a bit of tractor restoration and was hoping to complete it to a running stage to take it out to storage, as i've been refurbishing the hydrostatic steering and replating the bonnet. The bonnet wasn't even touched this weekend.
I decided on buying a new battery tray as my exisiting one has been eaten by the acid monster and I didn't have anything to go on to weld one up myself.
What a shoddy piece of engineering this new swinging battery tray was!

It involved a couple of hours worth of modification before it would even fit on the tractor
It seems like everything started to go downhill from then - though it didn't really, not until a few hours ago when the power steering pump resivour decided not to go back together

At the last try it sprung its self all over the shed and I decided enough was enough and had to come in. I had me tea and decided to treat myself to a tin of cold rice pudding - pouring the loverly stuff out and I find blood dripping down into my bowl

the tin lid had cut my thumb.....
The good bits regarding the tractor, was painting. Got the steering ram looking nice and blue, as well as the steering pump and battery tray. Also the steering pump bearing replacement went smoothly too.
Oh and another bad bit, the steering for this tractor takes SAE 20 oil

rather interesting I thought and noticably hard to get hold of. Finally got some yesterday - a 20 Ltr tin for wait for it....£66...........
You thought an Activa was a money pit, at least you can source parts for them, rather than a small British 4WD conversion company that went bust 25 years ago....
I do apologise if my mood at the moment is a bit

but its nice to get it all off my chest.
