Kidderminster :)
Danielle and I are enjoying a 1940s day on the Severn Valley railway.
There's a new coach trip company going from MK so offering special deals. This trip cost us £35 each and its been fab but so very hot!
How the lads in WW2 uniform or 3 piece suits cope without heatstroke is beyond me.

Excellent :-D

Looks like a lovely day out...

In the past I've spent a very enjoyable day out on the SVR. An excellent preserved railway and lots to see and do...

Had a great day over at Jim's yesterday swapping Cassy's a/c compressor for the one we'd fitted a new bearing to.
Two of the bolts are tucked up under the alternator which at first glance looks like it needs to come off.
However, if you undo the bottom two compressor bolts, you can swing the compressor away from the engine giving enough room to fit a screwdriver/prybar/spanner through the gap to stop the hidden nut and bolt spinning as you undo the accessable ends.
Refit is reversal of removal as they say.

We stopped for lunch before fitting the replacement compressor and that gave me a chance to let Jim sample my Raspberry Pi while I had a bit of his delicious strawberry jam (and I'm not a fan of strawberries!).
He was suitably impressed and ordered his own which hopefully will arrive tomorrow so he can get cracking.

With the compressor now on Cassy, I set to work removing her rear wiper motor as it's been shorting and blowing fuses.
In his Alldin's cave, Jim had the motor from the LX I stripped some years back.
I fitted it and tested. The blade moved slower than I recalled and paused between sweeps, while using the window spray stopped all sweeps so something wasn't right with the relay.
Comparing it with Cassy's old one, the relays were different externally, so I swapped it over and now I have a working rear wiper!

Cassy has performed perfectly on the way to Bodelwyddan in the land that has too many L's, D's and F's!

Will be practising archery after lunch in case any of the locals get a bit rowdy ;)

Juliet passed her MoT on Saturday, so come January and she'll be off to get some rust treated and then sold.
Jenny is having some welding done on her driver seat's front left captive nut and MoT done this week, and once that's done she'll be up for sale too.

As long as my PITA solicitor pulls their finger out and does the right paperwork, Danielle and I will be a homeowner on Friday! So excited!

Cassy's been behaving herself perfectly although she may have developed a whine from the rear, I'm not 100% sure it wasn't road noise and Danielle, who has better hearing than me, didn't hear anything.
Chances are it's her N/S rear bearing as Jim and I did her O/S one a year or so ago.

So the house purchase went through in the end *phew*
Jenny passed her MoT and will be up for sale as soon as I've taken some photos.
Just looked back as to when I last bought tyres for Cassy and it's just over a year ago and they're still going so I suppose that's one benefit of working in London and no longer doing the high miles.

Funny thing happened today. I was driving across Milton Keynes after visiting PavlosV6 to assist in a small repair to his V6 when I saw a Xantia going the other way. Said Xantia was Xac's and shortly after Xac did a 360 at the next roundabout and was following me home..

He'd come over to see me on the off-chance I'd be home, found I wasn't and was on the way back when he spotted me...

if you used soft bowls like Nigelas ( :bouncy: ) bowls made from a loaf of bread, you would not have had to duck :yikes:  :-D  :gtfo:

238K miles and that's an oil change and new cambelt fitted.
Need to bleed any remaining air out of the new coolant tomorrow when I get back from Luton along with tying up the horn's relay and replacing the power feed to the blower.
Then pop round to see Jim and fit new rear spheres.
