Re: Xac's adventures with Cassy (and friends + wife)
As the weather was nice I had a go at unscrewing the stuck oil filter on Jenny again, this time using Jim's strap wrench.
Bloody help it was tight but with lots of Percy wotsit it came loose.
Fitted the new one and filled up with fresh oil.
As the enginework is now done, I refitted the ECU box and the wing linings.
On a roll, I also refitted the front wheels.
I'd tried her a/c when I first fitted the new aux belt and it wouldn't engage, so I popped off the sensor and using a long implement depressed the valve. Nada, zilch, not a single puff, so a leak test will be in order and then I'll fit my spare dryer before getting her regasses. I also fear her compressor bearing is failing too like Casey's.
Other than that, it's do the headlight relay mod properly with drilling and grommets.
I may also do the relay mod for the starter motor.
I also need to drill out the broken bolt from the battery tray and fit a new rust resistant bolt.
Then it's bonnet, wings bumper and MoT ready for taxing at the end of the month if all goes to plan.
While I was working I made a new friend who seemed interested in lending a paw
And a not so welcome visitor when I moved one of the wheels out from under the car
The scary thing is, something about 4 times the size of that also crawled up under the car and disappeared, and I had no incling to go hunting for it!

Re: Xac's adventures with Cassy (and friends + wife)
Hope you soon feel well both..
Just remember it's not the norovirus making you feel rough; it's all the good antibodies going to work killing it that does that...

They're crafty little devils Mike. They make you feel awful so you stay at home in bed and therefore don't spread it around. With you resting and resources diverted to them they can get on with the job in hand: sorting out the virus. You'll thank them for doing it in the end

I know I'm in the same position right now but for entirely different reasons Mikesuperloopy wrote:Shame cos its stopped raining up here as well, things to do ... not in a fit state to do 'em ...
Still, the needle on my barometer is wrapped around the end-stop so it looks like the Azores High has finally built and we're in for some decent dry settled weather for a good bit now...

Re: Xac's adventures with Cassy (and friends + wife)
I have been bedridden, it really isn't nice.
Don't know if I'll be well enough for work tomorrow, and to make matters worse I think I'm out of sick days.
