Well a busy day of tinkering has seen a couple of long standing jobs done
I took the car into work today after giving it a thorough wash and spruce up on sunday
As i planned i borrowed a 4 hour spot on a 4 post ramp in the garage next door and armed with a toobox and my "kit box" of paints and cleaners etc i fitted a new set of Citroen rear brake backplates (customising one to accomodate the re routed rear abs sensor), greased up the rear height corrector and then derusted and smooth black hammerited the sump, front subframe, front track arms, rear trailing arms, rear anti roll bar, rear hydraulic lines, and rear subframe area.
These are jobs i have wanted to get done for a while now so am best pleased they have been done ready for the winter weather ahead.
After spending literally about 5 minutes customising the rear backplate on the O/S/R to clear the rear abs sensor wire, im baffled to know why Citroen didnt choose to do this from the factory? On the O/S/ R at least now the abs sensor should be able to be changed in about 30 minutes with the majority of that being cutting out the old one.
With the above done however i caught a bit of "Dave-itis"(you finish one job for another to appear) I now have a very tinny resonance coming from the exhaust system at 1500rpm. Probably a heat sheild that has been disturbed when i was checking the centre exhaust pipe condition.....Never mind, i will ask the guys to get it back on the ramp tomorrow and check it out.
My overal aim is to get the underside of the car looking very tidy....the rear spheres have all seen better days so once they are done and are looking green again, and a new spare wheel well fitted and painted, I will post some pics of how im getting on. The spheres are the only rusty looking bits left
Also thanks to Richard

i have ordered some pure yellow H1 bulbs from Malaysia via ebay for my headlamp conversion to the french look....once they arrive and are fitted i will order some others for the front fogs and revert the front fog lenses back to white again using the fog surround clips kindly donated to me
Happy motoring all
