It stopped raing in Warrington about an hour ago, other than that it's been non-stop all day.

OMG am i that predictable?.......congratulations to everyone who picked option A

I thought id make a start on it so after a quick jaunt to the local Morrisons to take Linda and Jack for a quick spin in the new car, tea was eaten, Jack put to bed and by 7:45 i was out to get stuck in.

Jobs done tonight:
Steering wheel re aligned to centre (was off a few splines and so much easier with no air bag)
Door shuts and tailgate shut areas cleaned (it had snails in the tailgate and lots of leaves and mud and grease)
Wheel arches sprayed with wheel cleaner and scrubbed with a good stiff brush and rinsed clean
Wheel trims removed and clean front and back removing all the old brake dust
Wheels cleaned (not even rusty)
The whole car washed top to bottom with fairy liquid (good degreaser)
Mirrors and black plastic trims fed with Autoglym bumper care (left now to soak in overnight but will probably need a few hundred coats)
Tyres shined up

Just got done about 10 minutes ago as its dark outside now

Im going to take it to work in the morning and again on Monday. The Xantia im going to park up as its "the money" until its sold. (its second buyer has fallen through so its back up for grabs)

Linds looked out of the window when i first got back and simply said "god its huge" She things it looks a bit old because its more angular than the Xantia but then made herself feel better by reminder herself that its better on fuel, cheaper insurance and if cleaned up well will breake its money again if and when sold.

Im looking forward to the drive in the morning.

I have some pictures from today which ill post up over the weekend once ive finished cleaning it up some more....there will be no machine polishing yet though.

P.s. Paul that knock on the front drivers side sounds like the rear wishbone bush....ill get it checked on monday and replaced if thats it (sounds like it to me)

THE BEAST IS BACK !
The best feeling driving back was hustling along with the fast lane audi's and bmw's etc in a big old xm and imagining what they must be thinking...."whats that"!

Excellent isn't it, Im frequently 'fast laning' in my Xm and Activa, im sure people think old cars should be going slowly, though they really are in their stride at motorway speeds.
