Oh really?
Im sure that is different on S2 cars, I thought our SXs had the provision for the second screen. Still, if its only the rear roof trim which needs changing, that is not a big deal.
Vince's XM...213k and slowing....

Re: Vince's XM - VSX back up for sale again.
THE BEAST IS BACK !
Well the xm is back home at my house. It completed the 110 mile trip through torrential rain (again) and Manchester rush hour traffic with ease
Its such a nice car to drive and very floaty and heavy. Yes it feels different than the Xantia does but i like it
The 2.1 pulls strongly especially up hills where the xantia felt less torquey and drifted up to 90mph with ease whilst fast laning all the way back to Manchester along the M56.
So what are some of my most favourite bits on it so far?.
1, The variable resistor control for the interior blower
Its great being able to precisely set the fan speed rather than 1 2 3 or 4
2, The dual cabin heater control
3, The manual hydractive button with dash warning lamp for sport position
4, the fact that the ticking indicator relay in on the passemger side of the cabin so its not ticking right in front of me
5, The ride and styling of course
but not to be forgotten......how many cars can you reach through the centre of the steering wheel
Its big, its barmy, its brilliant
...and it swallows nearlly all of my drive
The best feeling driving back was hustling along with the fast lane audi's and bmw's etc in a big old xm and imagining what they must be thinking...."whats that"!

Good to hear you're enjoying your new purchase Vince.

Oh dear, avoid doing that is my advice, I have many tales to tell about the perils of reaching through the centre of the steering wheel and the consequencesvince wrote:but not to be forgotten......how many cars can you reach through the centre of the steering wheel![]()

Glad to hear it's back. I'll bet that you'll look out the window and smile just before you go to bed
There certainly is something special about darting around in an XM, now you just need to kit the car out with some early 90s executive technology!

I would say that even a long day isn't an excuse in this situation

No fair point but i can only assume the extream lack of Vince we are experiencing this evening must mean he's out playing...............
So, vote, will Vince be;
A, giving the car a good clean this weekend
B, taking the family to some far flung viewpoint/attraction wild horses couldnt of dragged him to previously, OR
C, all of the above?
place your bets gentlemen................

C - All of the above.
However I think a slight amendment is needed for option A - I bet he's outside right now with the rotary polisher...
Notice that he's not online and not posted since 7:30pm after announcing he'd got the XM...
"Just got to pop outside to check on the car..."
