I recently bought a clutch clip from ECP for a friend of mine but for some reason the ones they sell don't come with the additional metal clip whereas the ones dealers sell do, although they have the same (genuine) part number :?
Ah useful information :)

I think Jim showed me one without a clip last time I was round his house.
Can the metal clip be transferred from the old one?

Yes it can but in my experience when the plastic clip breaks part of the metal clip snaps off as well.

agree Jim re: engine out..

Driveshafts have to be moved for clutch change anyway.. its no great hardship to do rest... I have an old tough cowley crane..

I think 3 clutches and 1 engine out I have done already on Xants so not gonna worry.. just need to build and make wind-proof a gazebo ;) I figure two weekends if no major hassle..

If my opinion counts working in the parts game, its always advisable to fit OE or OE standard equipment whenever you can afford to do so.

What you tend to find with cheaper makes is that you end up paying double in labour doing the job again in 6 to 12 months time so what you save in the cost of the part you fork out later anyway....

For that reason alone i always fit OE standard stuff....there is always a better warranty cover on OE brands aswell.
