Just like Matt's... Corrugated foam. Some small fragments survived. All ended up in two black bin sacks. The new stuff is foam sandwiched between two heavy plastic sheets.

Carpets are now down in the office and conservatory with the underlay down in the hall, stairs and landing ready for the fitter tomorrow morning...

The study carpet is a bit quirky... I love it!

Underlaid hallway...

Cloud 9... Sums up how I feel about it quite well!

The lounge and big bedroom will be done on Monday and Tuesday...

And happily, Autowindscreens did a great job on Bluebell's windscreen :) The repair was done like a dentist doing a filling... He drilled out the chipped area and then filled it with special resin, hardened it under UV light and then polished it...

So what started out as a bit of a rubbish morning has turned into a very good day. Plenty to do now to prepare for the work on Monday and Tuesday and to get all the old carpet rubbish to the tip...

And then when that's done...

Looking good Jim!

I should get my stair carpet done. Took it up about twelve years ago and haven't got round to replacing it yet. Running out of excuses now.
Maybe next year.

Same! Stairs and landing got a quick coat of (watered down = end of the tub!) white emulsion about a decade ago (have to say it's latest well!) and the later stair carpet plan is still in the list To Do :)
Spoiler: show
Stop gap paint job, admittedly looking a little careful worn now

Now what you both need is a bit of encouragement from Mick ;) He's entirely responsible for getting this job moving along in my house!

Huge thanks Mick for all you did yesterday :D Between is - although about 90% Mick and 10% me - we go the main bedroom and lounge cleared... The lounge condensed itself into the conservatory and the big bedroom into the little one in a couple of rounds of Olympic quality Tetris

All now ready for the carpet fitters :)

And in other news, Pix is now sold, paid for and delivered to its new owners... The delivery drive was onerous - roughly 20 feet!!!

My bike seems happy although one of my grandfather clocks wasn't. Sitting on a new, more level surface required a bit of delicate adjustment to its escapement to get it back 'in tick'*

Just needing to refit the bedroom furniture now and that's slated for tomorrow. Meanwhile I need to make a return trip to IKEA for all new bedding today.

I have a date for my carport installation - 11th September. That means Bluebell can be under cover before we take off on the September Shuffle :)

* A pendulum clock is 'in tick' when both the tick and the tock are even and balanced :)

No, they're my old B&W ones I've had and loved since 1985! The Frome ones live upstairs in my office...

Like walking on clouds 8-)

I carefully chose the colour so it does not show the mud... It should just blend in

Here we have a 'Polly Payload' to go to the tip later today :)
20240821_131550.jpg
This includes all my old bedding - all replaced today with nice new IKEA stuff :D I paid a lot of money for a duck feather and down quilt and matching pillows.

I was told I was quackers to spend that much on bedding... All I know is I prefer the natural stuff over synthetic any day (or night)...

My new mattress is made of memory foam... It doesn't say how many Gigabytes it'll hold or how I connect it to my laptop

That stuff absorbs your memories while you sleep and you remember less and less every day when you awake.
