Not much progress made on the attic yesterday... Lots of other stuff to do...

Big news yesterday was my appointment as Milton Keynes Junior parkrun co-Event Director. A very high honour and I'm very proud :D In brief, it means I'm in change of that parkrun in tandem with my colleague and we, between us, are fully responsible for its smooth and correct running.

I've had to do loads of admin around this appointment and currently taking an on-line child protection and safeguarding in sport course. This is mandatory, as is other checks made on me to ensure I'm good..

Work on the attic will resume today, hopefully! Depends upon getting another load of parkrun and TT racing work done. Truly, I work harder in retirement - all voluntary - than ever I did at my paid work

I love it, I need to be kept busy. I get bored too easily...

Quite a title, can we shorten it?

"CitroJim, the MKJPCED" :-D

I'm not one for sitting still either, not the thousands of miles of running you put it, but always doing stuff!

I'd like to do the cycling again but unlike Jim's place there's nowhere around here so devoid of traffic............and a couple of times there Jim you were exceeding the 20mph speed limit in our locality. :)
The only place safe enough for cycling here now is on the dedicated forest bike trails, but watch out for the wild boar.

Yesterday was an awesome day running the Big Bear Salcey Trailfest 50K ultramarathon in quite challenging conditions...

The mud was epic :D These two give just a taster of it!

I absolutely loved it, especially the muddy bits :D The weather was just about perfect for the run and the scenery absolutely stunning

My washing machine worked hard. I look clean in the photo - lower down was a different matter

I might elevate you whether you like it or not Jim over to Picture's of the Day with that picture after a 50K run.
Has to be a contender for the end of month POTD awards. That was a phenomenal achievement, all the more so because literally it looks as though you just "took it in your stride" and thoroughly enjoyed it rather than endured it :-D

By all means do Neil ;) And yes, I did thoroughly enjoy it, every muddy inch of it :D Immensely so! Long endurance, in both running and cycling, is very my forte and I'm now looking to run a 50 mile ultra...

I felt amazingly good afterwards and came home to a load more work to do! This morning I went out for a 7.5 mile 'recovery' run and totally fortuitously met up with Autumn and her dad going into Autumn's nursery :D

Jim well done =D>

I imagine there's a lot of 'red flag' lessons in that course.

Yes, very much so and some of the training scenarios they give are both shocking and distressing.

To chill a little after it I got some more boarding and insulation work done in my attic :D

Doing the course mentally exhausted me and tested my cognitive abilities to the limit...

Yes I concur, well done Jim, I'm sure the pleasure you will get as Event Director will more than compensate for the cognitive overload :-D

As and when I could this week, a bit more work in the attic, getting boards down and deepening the insulation...

My 40M amateur radio mag. loop aerial is now properly mounted, rather than just resting against anything handy as it has for the past 9 years!!!

Still a work in progress and as and when, I'll continue...

Some progress on bluetoothing the XM radio today too... More later ;)
