Yep, that was the worst part by far Chris and after that, unzipping and unRAR'ing just took time. WinRAR threw a warning but it didn't look serious and I pressed on.
The VMWare player took several decades to install on my slow laptop and after that it ran up the Diagbox image fine. The Interface connected to the VM and all looked good. I got this

I always download big files when needed by plugging in a Cat 6 cable and maintaining hardwire connection to the internet (including fibre optic I know ). Works for me!!
Yes, Diagbox 9.91 does seem a bit flaky and it took several attempts before it was happy to talk to my car. Seems it wants the VIN first before selecting the car.
I've not seen the update nags yet but as a precaution I disconnected the wireless. I don't believe the software is wonderfully high-quality... It deserves your 'dogbox' sobriquet
After a bit of faffing, up it came... No faults
