With the AX being known for its incredibly low weight, does that count as a backhanded compliment? :rofl2:

The bit underlined made me laugh, not sure why but has real "aren't we a glutton for punishment?" Vibes to me! Think it's the "still" that does it :-D

Inspired by Neil's good spot of a meaningless but also interesting number of post counts on here, I was inspired to visit page 1 of Jim's thread. I'm glad you've persisted with your "basket weaving substitute" Jim!

:-D It's done me a lot of good over the years Matt! So, that was page 1 but have you read all the pages between then and now? To say a lot has happened between then and now is something of an understatement...

There's a book in there somewhere and if I was ever minded to write one all the source is right here in this thread!

Good to hear! I am similar to you, tend to enjoy fixing stuff rather than generating stress by the "ups and downs" as the job progresses! A pall also messes with cars but is polar opposite to me - every hump in the road pilling on more pressure. Many times we work together on something time is spent calming him down :-D

Not yet! I've read everything current from when I joined till now and enjoyed it. I might go "back in time" at some point,

Though, I once read a good amount of a "historic" blog type thread on another forum. The chap was slowly rebuilding/restoring a Talbot Sunbeam which had been converted as a grass track racer, doors welded shut, etc then abandoned with serious corrosion - a huge project and interesting read. However I was more than a bit "deflated" when I found that the threaded ended when the barn in which the car was stored burnt down - car a total loss! So sad after following it's slow and methodical return to good form then... Gone! :(

Rumours I'd deserted the FCF and take up with the good folks on the Nissan Pixo Enthusiasts forum are much exaggerated I'm pleased to say :)

My recent absence was due to being laid low by a particularly vicious chesty lurgy which may be the same one as Zel has and my nearest and dearest have also had...

It could have been Covid but having once had it, I don't think so... I had no great desire to book a one-way to Switzerland although I did end up watching 'Escape to the Country', 'Flog it', 'Tipping Point' and for gawd's sake 'The Chase'. Cabin Fever is a terrible thing... I can still see the marks where I tried climbing several walls...

From being almost dead yesterday I rallied today and and had very good reason to make use of the back seats in Polly :)

We went and enjoyed some recovery soft-play and lunch in one of our mega garden centres :) I must say their ball pit was excellent although the slide was a bit steep and slippery for little ones... The ball pit had a blower it was fun making ball fountains with it

We then enjoyed a great lunch :)

Both Autumn and her mum have suffered this lurgy...

Robyn was 50/50 we all may have had Covid but with her pragmatic nursing hat on she thinks it's just like the 'flu now - something we just have to live with and get on with it... Indeed we do...

At least it only knocked me sideways for a couple of days...

I found a run this afternoon was a good bit of therapy... I made four miles although for a lot of it I was coughing and spluttering like a 500-a-day smoker

I remain of the opinion a good run can fix anything and everything :)

I would heartily recommend "The Repair Shop" (which appears on various TV channels, but originated with the BBC) when you are unable to get out.

I tried watching it last evening James... It's when I finally lost the will to live and quickly went to bed just before booking that one-way flight...

I watched some twit trying to solder some small device made of brass back together whilst using way too much heat wrongly applied with a totally inappropriate tool and wondering why all the other (previously sound) soldered joints melted and fell apart...

He was clearly a stranger to the concept of heatsinks. It was all too much to bear... It was bloody torture    I'd rather watch Flog It, at least it had an H Van in it - or was that some other bit of TV dross? All I recall was an H Van acting as a mobile auctioneers and workshop making old tat look slightly less tatty...

The H Van looked lethal to drive

At the moment for me the ideal programme so I can disengage brain and watch to merely amuse me is The Big Bang Theory. Just plain dumb but amusing with it!! :-D

Yep, agreed Mick :D Had I been fully in charge of my faculties yesterday (I was not, by any means as can be seen) I'd have got my Big Bang Theory DVD Box-Set out and watched that...

This bloody Picasso of mine... Nothing but trouble

First it was a very slow puncture... Now OK, fingers crossed, after the reseal and new valve :)

And now, a blown headlight bulb. An H7, a variety I don't have in stock... I anticipate a trip to Halfrauds in the morning...

Always seems to happen on a Sunday
