 You'd be a lot more worried if you saw what else was in that playlist Alasdair ;) I wish now I'd specially selected Vampire by Olivia Rodrego with its explicit lyrics warning

In fact Vampire would have been a great choice given it's so near Halloween...

As for Leo Sayer's Orchard Road, as in all my playlist tracks, there's a significant story behind it...

Today's Mallory Park Duathlon was awesome  I smashed my Sprint PB to bits and shaved a good five minutes off it... And that was taking into account a very technical bike course with several slow hairpins and a hairpin atop quite a hill :) I ran two very fast runs - by my standards...

And delighted to unexpectedly meet an old friend there... That made it special :)

On the way home - a blast down the A5 - until I got to Towcester and huge queues due to the A43 being shut - Polly's TPMS alerted me to an under-inflated tyre  I stopped and looked and they all seemed fine... Once I got home I checked them all and three were spot-on but one had lost a few pounds... I was quite surprised at just how good the TPMS seems to be. It's done on wheel rotation speed.

I replaced those lost pounds and checked the tyre carefully for puncturing objects but none found. I'd not at all been surprised to have found a screw or nail given how many tip runs she's made recently and all the building work that's gone on in my house... I'll be keeping a close eye...

Bollocks  Polly has definitely picked up a slow puncture :( She lost 0.2 of a bar overnight.

I'll check the tyre more thoroughly this morning and hoping it's repairable... Knowing my luck

Did that, not a single bubble to be seen... The only item big enough to do it in was my bath... And it got a bit mucky

And nor could I find any penetrating object either... Two of us looked with no result...

Most odd. I'm taking the wheel to our local place in a bit to let them have a look at it and possibly reseal the rim bead and swap the valve although again, no bubbles seen despite deep scrutiny...

If all else fails, it'll be a new pair of tyres... I already know I'll soon be needing new front brake pads...

Polly's service is booked for Thursday.... All done online now!

Well, how bizarre.. I popped the wheel up to our local tyre place and they, like me, searched in vain for any reason...

They popped the tyre off, reaseated it on the bead and popped a new valve in...

They did it all FOC :D They're good like that. I'm a regular customer and every puncture they've done free for me...

I can only keep it under observation now... I'll be carrying my track pump in the car from now on, just in case the TPMS says it's going down whilst out and about...

I was wrong about the brake pads... There's loads of meat left on them :)

One thing I did notice today was condensation in the rear fog lamp...

As it's been gorgeously warm and sunny here I rested it on Polly's roof to air out...

I was mildly surprised to see it has a red coloured bulb. First I've seen. I knew of amber bulbs for indicators but not red...

Now nicely aired out :)

The dust you can see has been generated by the kitchen fitter putting the finishing touches to my new kitchen and using some very serious-looking saws to cut the kick-boards and decor ends!

I know I don't have to say this to you Jim or any other regular here, but for those who don't know, air temperature will effect tyre pressure when inflating. Warm air is more expansive than cold air, plus driving will increase the air expansion, once the tyres are cooled it will drop your tyre pressures because the air contracts as it were.

Fair point - even bigger effect when the roads are hot and you are towing (eg a caravan).

However Jim's issue was/is that only one tyre changes pressure, and the change is always down...

Exactly, I'll be checking again at first light this morning and will see if the reseat and new valve did the trick...

Looking very happy during Sunday's Duathlon at Mallory Park :)

I'm very happy to report the re-seating on the rim and a new valve has resolved Polly's slow puncture... The tyre held pressure exactly as set overnight :)

That's a relief... You might say the pressure is off ;) I'd have hated to have needed to renew the tyre - meaning a pair - as it and its partner still have loads of mileage in them...

I had a set of rear tyres fitted to the C5 and the nearside one kept losing pressure, had to inflate it before going to work and before leaving for about a week. Was fine after that.

One of my rally mates had a breached rim seal on one of his snow tyres so he beaded it with araldite!! It did the job for a couple of years but then he had to replace the whole wheel when the tread wore out!! :-D

Tyres can certainly do some bizarre things Steve

I once had an EPIC diesel injection pump in for overhaul that had been 'sealed' with Araldite around the gasket lands... I had to chip it away using a small cold chisel before I could dismantle it...

The pump, with new seals, went on to live another day :)

As of 04:00 this morning, Polly's suspect tyre is still good... I'm off to Daventry soon for a 6 hour run challenge in the rain around the country park. I will be taking no chances: my track pump is going with me ;)

I did find, in all of this fun, the gauge on my track pump does not quite agree with my Sykes-Pickavant gauge... I now need a third known-good gauge to see which is the most accurate...

Race X gauges are known to be relatively accurate for the price..... or accurate enough at least :)

I bought four pumps, one for me, two for daughters and one for granddaughter, all gauges showed different pressures but consistently so.
Also bought four digital gauges, all showed the same pressure and were consistent and the same as my existing gauge.
Also gave my new one away and still rely on the old one which is a pain in the proverbial as I have to remove and replace the battery to start it and repeat several times as it will give one or two readings and turn itself off. At least the pump reads 2 psi under all the time.
