Are you old enough to be classed as 'Heritage' now Jim ?
Listed status, or Scheduled Ancient Monument ?

Gosh, yesterday was a bit special

A big 50th badge was donned..
And a very special card and present given

Then, as soon as I'd put parkrun to bed for another week - the amount of admin at the end is not inconsiderable - it was off to celebrate my son-in-law's 30th birthday at a large and hugely fun family gathering

Little one loved it - as did we all

Two good photos from Monday's TT race...
Our official photographer always likes to position himself on the toughest part of the course... This one was taken at the bottom of a small hill just before a sharp left-hander where there's always a load of cars parked right on the racing line. Care is needed here, hence not being tucked head-down on the tribars and covering the brakes...
And Ruth and I comparing helmet stickers left over from previous events! We tend to 'forget' to remove them and indeed, wear them with pride, especially if we did well in the event..

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
This afternoon I gave Sally, my Saxo, a good deep check-over that amounted to a pre-pre-MoT!
All is good here
And here... And at the rear on both sides... No issues found. The engine is totally free of oil leaks and is so free of them it's bone-dry
There's a couple of small areas of underbody protection that needs touching up and I see the very end of one sill has a bit of bubbling under the stonechip.
There's no holes there and all is 100% sound so a bit of prompt skilled attention (not something i can do) will resolve it nicely...
The ELIT told me something I already knew
I knew as the speedo occasionally stops working... I have a new sensor in stock. Oddly, in the past five years it's the second one it's consumed... It has an unhealthy appetite for them for some odd reason...
The mixture control is good and the oxygen sensor signal looks absolutely normal.
And after an erasure...
I reckon she'll be good for another MoT in September...
Thereby scuppering my plans to treat myself to a new car

Why do you need a new car? Why not treat yourself to an electric bike? You cyclists spend thousands on them

I have absolutely no use or desire for an electric bike at this stage of my cycling career. I plan on getting a top-flight racing one when I'm too old and feeble to ride a conventional racing bike...
I'm hoping that's a way off just yet

I bet if they hide the battery inside the frame you'd consider it.... You'd could be the next Lance Armstrong

After yesterday's fast and furious 50 mile club ride, taking in some big hills down around Dunstable - Sundon Hill and the interestingly named Sharpenhoe Clappers, I proved to myself beyond all doubt that I'm not yet in need of an e-bike

On the basis of this ride, I'm well on my way to managing a sub 6 hour ride when I do my 100 mile charity ride in September. I'm training hard for it
