It's surprising just how fast a cow can run - faster than the average human, that's for sure!

One lady runner was terrified of the cows, burst into tears and asked me to run with her and protect her until we reached safety... Naturally, I was happy to :)

As the old adage goes - in the situation of a stampede, you don't need to outrun the cows, you just need to outrun the person next to you

I thought that was method for a bear (i.e. "just don't be slowest") but presumed that was as said bear stopped to enjoy what laid out before him - but will the cows actually stop at the first faller? (I mean as they are charging as frightened rather than peckish)

The cows are unlikely to be frightened, or they would run away from the people. Cows are curious and gregarious and (especially the young ones) they just like to run!

If someone fell over, some probably would stop for a look and a sniff - as I said, they are curious! When the fallen one went to get up, they would probably find they had a ring of spectators!!

Well not all dogs are Pit Bull Terriers! Spanish bulls might be bred for agression - English cows are not (although taking a dog near a cow with a young calf is never a good plan)

Also I would suggest that just about anything will fight back when sufficiently aggravated (although I'm not sure about Guinea Pigs...).

This weekend has been epic 8-) Mostly spent at the big Redway Runners MK24 event with a couple of short breaks for parkrun and de-signing a
Big Bear event that took place in Salcey Forest the previous day and evening. I started that job at 6AM and then stayed on for Salcey Forest parkrun :D

And then off to MK24 where I ran a bit... Except for a short break for around 3 hours sleep and refuelling I was back for day 2...

Total for the weekend, including parkrun and running between the event and home was just shy of 60 miles and according to my Garmin, 128,000 steps! And all in brutal and close (muggy) heat. I've never got through so much water!

I've had run more than than had I not taken a bit of time out on Sunday to volunteer at Junior parkrun!

Having now taken part in all the MK24 events, I now have the full set of commemorative towels :)

I'm feeling remarkably good, no injuries and no ill effects from the sun, having used loads of protection. I'm delighted with how my endurance running has developed and improved this year and this is all good training for my big ultra in a few weeks.

I'm now getting ready for my few days away with Mick. Really looking forward to it :D

Sounds like the ideal physical fortification for our trip tomorrow Jim! Good to know you have remained injury free and fit to go. Pity I don't have the time or equipment to install a pedal set in the passenger footwell to keep your legs active! :-D Of course I do have the trusty angle grinder so maybe a Fred Flintstone designed mod is the way to go!
Looking forward to getting underway to pick you up at 6.30! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

If I did that Gibbo, it would make sense to have him run in front!! That would improve the mpg!! :-D

I have my Tardis bag packed , Skull's wings ready and raring to go Mick :D See you bright and early in the morning :D

I also have my run kit packed too ;)

I was alerted to the fact, via Facebook, I'd missed a sign when de-signing around Salcey Forest on Saturday. One that was high-up and almost invisible against the dark foliage cover...

That was all the excuse I needed to go to Salcey early this morning for a nice run around the forest to retrieve it :D

Me generally and my legs in particular are feeling very good. This evening I'm TT race timekeeping before enjoying a bit of a rest for a few days :D

All back to normal here now after our rather magical June Jolly :)

This morning i got my running back in gear by running to parkrun and back again after doing a spot of volunteering :) A nice 12 miles ran...

Today Autumn, my granddaughter, is 9 months old :)

I came home from parkrun to find a message from Robyn containing a picture of an AA box in the wild and Autumn admiring it :)

I'm pleased to see her mum is keen to introduce her to the finer things in life from a nice early age :)
