It looks like it'll sell for a fairly good price too... I'll be watching that auction with interest

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
Yesterday during the Big Bear Bluebell Challenge at Hartshill Hayes Country Park I did possibly one of the most amazingly awesome things I have ever done in my life...
I was a guide for Louise, a marathon runner who has been blind from birth, for a couple of laps of the very tough and technical trail running course.
Parts of the course were very tricky with lots of muddy hills..
And a plank bridge across a small stream with steep muddy banks on each side!
Other parts were a bit easier!
I was so honoured and privileged to be a guide runner, the first time I've ever done such a thing, and loved every second. It made yesterday very, very special and I learned so much about being blind. Louise is one of the most amazing people I've ever met.
Selfie of Louise and I taken and posted with her full permission.

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
It's MK Marathon Weekend and as is fitting for the biggest running event in Milton Keynes, there's a big festival in Campbell Park to celebrate it with a tremendous atmosphere
Last evening I ran the Turing 10K as part of this magical event
The course for this run was quite challenging and for the last kilometre ran up quite a brutal hill. I managed it in just under 58 minutes
A great time for me...
Today I'm running the half marathon - officially that is... As the marathon is two laps of the half marathon course, I may just carry on and run the marathon...
And this evening I'm timekeeping at Round 3 of our Monday TT racing series...
So I'll likely not be very active on here until some time tomorrow!

You're right! I'm very much an endurance/distance runner and can't sprint to save my life although I did sprint hard at the finish at the half marathon yesterday to finish in just under 2 hours and to finish with my good friend Ryan just behind me - who is much more a sprinter!
It was a fantastic run from start to finish and I'd have got an even better time had I not stopped for a few selfies with friends and a very necessary loo stop!
This one of me by the Willen Peace Pagoda is one of my favourites

Sold for £581, seems like a lot....! Although I suspect the number plate is probably worth more than that, and these days you don't need an MOT to transfer it.CitroJim wrote: 28 Apr 2023, 05:54
That would be an interesting restorationThe dash is rapidly turning into a jigsaw puzzle!

I was watching the end of the auction over lunch Richard... I was surprised to see it was at £571 early this morning and there was no flurry of bids right at the end, just one more to take it to the win...RichardW wrote: 03 May 2023, 15:56Sold for £581, seems like a lot....! Being an early series one, it's worth almost that in spares... If the dash was in perfect condition that alone would have been good for a good chunk of that...
Still, if it's as structurally sound as the description says then it may soon look very much like this one

Bluebell and I enjoyed a most lovely joyride in the sunshine today

She's such a joy to drive and I hope the new owner of the eBay one soon finds out just how joyous although I can't quite imagine a 1360 oil-burner will be quite as urgent and fun as a carburetted petrol 1124

My Dad had a 14D, infinity miles to the gallon! Don't think I ever drove it, my ample 6ft frame and size 11s don't fit in an AX! Got scrapped after the cam belt went...

I now have a running top suitable for formal occasions

Not ordered by me - the person who originally ordered this top never collected it so after a year or so it was offered, along with all the others that befell a similar fate, for a small donation to the Redway Runners' designated local charity of the year...

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
I did my bit for democracy yesterday and combined it with a decent little run...
I ran in an orange top to celebrate the life of Pete, one of my Redway Runner friends who tragically died on Sunday whilst out running.
Orange was Pete's favourite colour...
We were all very shocked by his sudden and totally unexpected death - he was fit and in good health. This put a big cloud over the MK Marathon Weekend for we Redway Runners.
One of my very close friends was seriously injured during the half marathon event after being accidentally tripped by a fellow runner. He fell very heavily on a hard-packed gravel path and had to be rescued by the paramedics. It's a heck of a shock when you see an ambulance rock up to the medical tent and see a close friend being unloaded from it on a stretcher. He's still recovering.

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
Spending some very high quality time with Autumn, my granddaughter, today
She's just on the cusp of crawling...
I introduced her to Rattiva, the toy rat that once lived on the parcel shelf of my very ratty old Activa and then took up residence in all my subsequent Xantias, ratty or otherwise...
Autumn declared Rattiva to be very tasty, especially his tail
