Then it's back to the start... A nice, scenic and interesting 100 miles.
I might be up for that Jim, would like to get a 100 miler in this year. Are you planning on the 8th?

That would be awesome Richard :-D The 8th is the target date, plus or minus a bit in case of inclement weather...

If you want to see the full .gpx of the route, let me know and I'll make it available :) Maybe as a shared Strava course...

And indeed, if anyone else fancies joining this ride and making it a proper FCF outing I'd be delighted :D Lots of cafe stops are planned ;)

Sorry for the delay in responding.. It's been a very busy morning of parkrun activities... I was out on Bury Field getting my feet wet at 0630 this morning to check the course was fit to run, then I went to Linford Wood to help set up before Run Directing the event... I've not long since finished tying up all the loose ends and leaving things tidy for next week's Run Director... On a Saturday it's a good 6 or 7 hours of work...

And for the next two weeks I'm Run Director at Bury Field parkrun... Good job I love doing it ;)

From the thread Today's County in the Spotlight...Cheshire viewtopic.php?p=716705#p716705

The other side of the event, and no doubt part of the story which you will be more than familiar with Jim.

An unlikely synergy has occurred on the FCF, and has been deposited in the "Familiarity Phenonemon and other Unlikely Coincidences" thread. It relates to the Cheddington Mail Van Raid as featured here on your blog Jim, and our AA Village Signs thread :-D

I expect you know most of what is there to be known about the story of the Cheddington Mail Van Raid but I did come across this and I do like a decent name...

...and the Bournemouth Daily Echo delivers. Nice to know a there was a conscientious young Detective Constable at work in Bournemouth and his name was...

Sorry folks...you may have to do the hard yards and have a read to find out...

Thanks Neil, that's added to the story nicely :-D First time I've heard the Great Train Robbery described as the 'Cheddington Mail Van Raid'. Inaccurate as it didn't actually happen at Cheddington ;) Cheddington was simply the destination of the locomotive and first two coaches after the fact as there were convenient sidings there where forensics could take place and nothing more.

Maybe it's been renamed as some snowflakes and woke types may see the word 'Great' as glorifying a heinous crime. Its the Great Train Robbery, always has been and and always will be.

Enough of that :) No posts on here yesterday as I was busy...

I ran a great Twin Lakes in Milton Keynes... A very scenic run between the Willen and Caldecotte balancjng lakes :D A lot of the run was along the canal towpath and it was well muddy and slippery. How no runners ended up in the canal was more by good fortune than anything else... We had brilliant weather for it and it was both very sociable and a lot of fun...

After that lovely ten miles of running, one of those that seemed effortless and like I was almost levitating, I went out for a serious bit of duathlon training involving a hard bike ride followed by a hard run :D

And then, it was time to take Bluebell out for a warming run and joyride, being it was a nice dry and sunny afternoon.

It's been a while since I've driven Bluebell. I'd almost forgotten what a real little gem she is and how much fun :D

I really do love her :D

"The Cheddington Mail Van Raid" pre-dated its acquiring of the "Great Train Robbery" moniker.

Every day's a school day Neil - that's the great thing about the study of the subject - always something new and unexpected to be found

Cant find me having previously posted this, so I'm hoping I can tuck it away in your blog Jim.

Its an old Top Gear from 1994, and I have started it at the relevant bit. Michele Newman is the presenter and drives a Citroen AX Electrique around La Rochelle. At 21.35 there is Quentin Wilson driving around in a Gordon Keeble, so hopefully a bit of interesting content should you wish to flick through.
