You can always drink it later if you seal the container to prevent evaporation.
It's nearly Christmas, serve it up to visitors, they will never know if you chuck some orange juice in it.

A great Christmas 10K run around Salcey Forest today and the first outing for my 2022 Christmas running top :D There was mince pie for each of us on the finish line and very welcome and delicious it was too!

And then I took Bluebell out for a bit of a joyride, it being a lovely day here...

Santa is always going to break the tapes first in a dead heat. There is hope (very slight) for me yet then. I think I know who is responsible for eating all the mince pies.

An extended test of the refurbished carb, particular attention paid to the throttle pump, don't you mean? :-D all in the name of science!

 In my defence, I confess only to having one ;) My confession however, may not be strictly honest :^o

 These things have to be exhaustively tested Matt ;) Especially as I plan to run her down to Somerset and back next week :D And if such essential tests can be part of a joyride then all the better :D

I did a plug reading when I got home... Looking good! And happily, she's consuming no oil of coolant :)

If she was geared up for carrying bikes I've have been tempted to drive her to Wendover in the morning for the Duathlon but Sally, my Saxo, is far more suited to this role and besides, there's a chance there will be mud - lots of it - and I really don't want Bluebell's nice clean interior to get muddy...

If it were mince pies that you had made everybody would have more than one (even if they were each the size of dinner plates!).

I've already made two sizable batches of mince pies this year James... Practicing to ensure I can make them well enough to properly celebrate the big day :D So far, the consensus is that they beat any commercial ones... So yes, if I had I'd have needed to bake thousands - proper home-baked ones using high quality mincemeat do go down rather well and go very quickly :D

Now, one the size of a dinnerplate after a 10K run would have been just right! I'll need three of them tomorrow - one for each discipline in the Duathlon ;)

I survived the Wendover Woods Wicked Duathlon today :-D
20221204_112517.jpg
It was wickedly hilly, wickedly cold and wickedly fun :D I absolutely loved it!

The weather may have been cold but the event was warm and very friendly... And Wendover Woods is a truly beautiful place, achingly so...

I'm now just about warmed up... Reynauld's came calling in a big way and my fingers went AWOL for some while...

Who cares... A small price to pay for an awesome morning :D

Might these help with the Reynaulds, Jim? You will need a power bank to run them (but I don't know how they are connected).

Thanks James :D That's really appreciated :D I tried a pair of those last winter and they were good but not suitable for me as the heat failed to extend right down my fingers where the heat is required in my case...

The search goes on ;) Happily, it's getting better as the years roll by and this year today was the first time and happened in the warmth of the car on the way home and not actually whist running or cycling...

On the bike they just tingled!

Although I don't suffer the way you do Jim I do have issues with cold fingers which used to give me trouble when fishing. I never found a glove that did the job you'd expect and whatever type I tried I still had cold finger tips, until I remembered my schooldays when I used to wear sheepskin mittens in the winter which were good for making snowballs!! However they were also excellent at keeping the fingers warm by virtue of the fact that the whole mitten was warmed by the bulk of the hand which in turn kept the fingers warm. I used to sit watching the float with my thumb against the palm and nice toastie hands. Maybe worth a try for you when running as, as far as I can see, you don't need fingers for running :-D

This sort of thing I'm meaning:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Mittens almost work for me Mick and for cycling on properly cold days - although I loose a bit of gear changing and braking dexterity - I have a pair of Lobster Mitts - basically two fingered mittens - they make me look a bit like Dr. Zoidberg out of Futurama

Their other (minor) downsides are that I can't ride on the tribars whilst wearing them or reliably operate my Di2 electronic gear shifters on my duathlon bike... But for warm'ish fingers I'm happy to forego that!

They're not well suited for running simply through their sheer bulk although I have used them on cold days... They're not perfect but the best I've yet found... I dream of toasty hands in the winter...
