After this morning's run I am now 646.5 miles into my virtual journey from Lands End to John O'Groats and back again :D

I have a year to do the full challenge and I'm now on course to have it done by July...

If I want to end the challenge on the 31st December I now need to run less than a mile a day...

That'll be great Peter but unlikely to see them this year as this virtual challenge has barely left Paggers so far ;)

I'd love to do LEJOG properly, maybe not as a run but as a bike ride...

I'd also love to do the North Coast 500 on the bike too ;) Some cycle tour companies do in fact offer both a fully-supported LEJOG and NC500 and I'm keen to look at them but they are not exactly cheap...

I think however much it costs it would be a lovely experience to do one or indeed both :) Maybe in 2022 or when Covid allows us... Whichever cones first :)

As a slight aside to this, there is a woman lives up the street from me who does a lot of running.
She looks quite spectacular, tall, slim but muscular, stern face that quickly dissolves into smiles, glossy black hair etc. etc.
Wears a very smart black and green running kit.

Most of the runners around here shamble along and look as though they are about to expire.
This lady flows along. Very feline in her movements. I have never seen anyone move the way she does*, always looks fresh even at the end of her run. Seriously impressed.

*Until a couple of days ago, there is an Iranian lad, in his early twenties, live at the back of mine, into fitness, weight lifting, cycling and running. He and his mate passed by. His mate plonking one foot in front of the other in a rather staccato rhythm, but the other one was very sinuous and loping along.

I know what you mean Steve  Sometimes they look as if they are not enjoying it and you should never run if you don't...

One good test is to try exchanging pleasantries with a fellow runner whilst running. If you receive an equally cheery response then they're happy and flowing along but so often the response is nil or a strangled grunt...

Ditto when out cycling...

I flow along, I think :)

I've been on a running and cycling rest day today... Not a frequent occurrence, actually quite rare, but they do some good, especially as I plan to run a half marathon in the morning ;)

In response to me announcing I was doing so today I received this from a good running pal of mine

Delighted to receive the medals for completing my recent virtual running challenges today :D
f4ft4tmeds.jpg
Both are huge wooden ones :) Wood is now being increasingly used to make medals as it's seen to me more environmentally friendly than traditional metal ones and they're often UK-made rather than made in China...

As today marked the start of the lockdown easing that allows us to legally undertake local trips, I took Daffodil out for a bit of fresh air and exercise :)

She really does drive beautifully :D

Later I went for a bike ride and visited the same spot for another photo opportunity ;)

Tyringham church is my favourite of all the churches on my 'patch'. So much so that I ride the Tour du Tyringham cycle sportive to raise funds for its upkeep :D

I hope those wooden gongs haven't knocked you out Jim? Your activity has been so prolific I missed it yesterday and this morning so I trust all is ok? :)

Wow! That's lovely Eric :D

I've been making the very most of the gorgeous weather these past two days with lots of long runs and cycle rides but unfortunately, all of it offered nothing of interest to this forum :(

I'm sure you have now all seen enough photos of churches, blurry classic cars caught on my safety camera, me, my running and Daffodil so I'm giving it a rest for a while...

That's a relief to know Jim, glad all is well and you are getting ready for your forthcoming 'ironman' event. Have as much a break as you want but don't go thinking we have seen enough of your adventures. Not possible, I for one, being stuck indoors most of the time, thoroughly enjoy seeing the seasons pass through your lens, not to mention the adventures of all your wheels. In the meantime good luck in the event!! :-D
