Rubbish Jim, they are all cars, you may just have to learn some new stuff but nothing beyond your capability I'm sure!! :-D
You have more confidence in my abilities than I do  But yes, you are absolutely right Mick... 30 years ago I might have said the same about being able to fix an Activa...

If she works for the NHS Jim, and wants a new car she should maybe look into their fleet management services salary sacrifice scheme. The NHS is a major market for car manufacturers to "sell" their vehicles, and the NHS has a Wing which deals with the scheme. Jaguar made a deal with the NHS to supply I Paces, but virtually any car will be available.

If she happens to want to go electric, and why not, there are plenty incentives including negligible benefit in kind assessment for tax (0%, 1% and 2% over the next years), and the salary sacrifice element of the scheme means that effectively the payments for the car are taken off and you pay tax based on a lower income figure. I also imagine the NHS are switched on to workplace charging, which gets further incentives for employers.

Certainly worth looking into, and undoubtedly significantly the cheapest way of acquiring a new car for those workers.

This might suit her :-D

Here's a video on the scheme, seems like its getting bigger...
I have talked to a number of NHS workers who get their cars through the scheme at the EV charging points. :-D
All have been very enthusiastic both about their electric vehicles and the savings they enjoy both on the monthly payments for their cars, and the saving compared to petrol on running costs.

She may know about the scheme already Jim. But the video posted above explains it all very simply.

Charging difficulties are easily overcome. I have never once charged my BB leaf at home :-D .and Milton Keynes is dripping in chargers. Pointless installing a charging point at home though if you are about to move, although "granny" chargers via a normal 3 pin plug can always be used although they need a 10 hours ish run to fully recharge.

Exactly the same as happened to my 107 - at almost exactly the same age.

I tied it back to the rubber hanger with a bit of bike brake cable...and promptly forgot about it for the next two years!

Fitted the new (working) DAB adaptor to Daffodil today...

Then I just had to take her out for a joyride ;) Couldn't resist the temptation :)

Anyway, the DAB adaptor needed a good test!

Corruption
Corruption
You've really been and gone and done it now Jim. This constitutes flagrant disregard for the 1852 Act for the protection of all Daffodils and Tulips. Under the act you are not allowed to make any holes in any part of the Daffodil or Tulip concerned and, if found doing so, you are awarded the automatic penalty of having to wash and wax said victim on a weekly basis for as long as ye both be aquainted.

Sorry Jim but it falls upon me to ensure that you take the punishment without recourse to whingeing and moaning and remember that in future her dignity must be preserved.

All other readers please take note, you cannot go poking holes in your lady without suffering the consequences!!!

:-D :-D :-D

And it will be done Mick ;) Daffodil is a sheer pleasure to wash and polish so that's one punishment I'm happy to take :)

In my defence M'Lud I made that hole to facilitate a neat route for the aerial cable :) I nearly made one for the power cable but given it has a captive USB plug on it the hole would have been just too big...

Absolutely Peter, Salisbury in fact :)

And indeed all the best cars do indeed come from the south west :D My Saxo came from Glastonbury originally and proudly carries a Somerset registration :D

Hi Alasdair. Are you back for good? I hope so, as you did liven the forum up a bit when you were normally contributing.
