Today saw me run 6 miles to complete day 50 of my current run streak - that's 50 consecutive days of running...

This run was completed in time to get to our local Tesco for early doors and to get stocked up for Lockdown V2. I was greeted by a very well stocked shop and even procured a 4-pack of toilet roll :)

Speaking to the staff they said the day before the shelves had been almost cleared of everything :?

During this lockdown, Daffodil will have a significant amount of work done to her :)

And during lockdown this'll be my main way of cycling and for much of the coming winter no doubt...
My cycling pain cave...
My cycling pain cave...
I don't mind riding when it's cool and dry outdoors in the winter but I utterly hate riding in the wet...

Oddy perhaps, I love running in the rain... Yesterday morning I got utterly drenched!

Love it

A while back I believe the makers of the Snickers bar did a limited edition of Marathon bars... I looked high and low for one to keep as a memento but could never find one...

I wonder why the name was changed? And why did they change the name of Spangles?

Jim I have sampled the 'retro' Marathon which I found in multi-packs but it was a real con as they weren't 'retro' sized :^o (much smaller) and tasted just like a Snickers :rofl2:

Yes, it's shocking how all our favourite choccy bars have shrunk over the years  It's allegedly ton stop us becoming obese... Funny that we didn't when they were full size  But than people, especially kids, were a lot more active in days gone by...

And have you seen the size of Wagon Wheels these days  More like wagon castors

It was the first frost here this morning 🥶 I ran wearing my full winter gear... Thermal base layer and running tights along with a special beanie hat and a buff... Despite two pairs of gloves Reynauld's got at my hands and it took 10 minutes for any feelings to return back in the warm of my home...
Brrrrrr...
Brrrrrr...
On the day before Lockdown V1 back in March, a friend repaired the beanie hat I wore today as we sat in a café enjoying a coffee following what was to be the last true BCG club bike ride in 2020. On the way home I was involved in a serious road accident... Somehow the beanie survived the accident and subsequent removal of my cycling lycra with a pair of shears... I'd tucked the beanie under my cycling jersey. That it's still with me after all that makes it very special :)

So today I wore that same beanie on what is the last day before Lockdown V2... I did plan a bike ride today but don't want to tempt fate but then again I feel the need to lay a ghost...

Undecided...

I did go for a bike ride today :) The weather was so glorious it would have been rude not to ;)

Happily, no incidents so the ghost is now laid to rest :D

This picture describes how I felt about the ride 8-)

I certainly did :) I'll get a photo of it next time I ride through the village... It's a beautiful church and well worth a stop to enjoy it and the tranquillity that surrounds it :)

Gosh! That long ago Neil! I'd totally forgotten I'd taken a picture of it...

Must have been for the thread on red church clocks I guess?

That's Robyn's bike now :) I grew out of it...

I challenged you gently
and far be it from me to send you on a literal "steeplechase" Jim but this "Red Clock" is well within cycling distance of Newport Pagnell if you fancy a change of scenery!! (edit-just noticed your reply on POTD Jim....looks like you have cycled past it a few times already!)

to go on a quest Jim and in one of those occasions when virtual shenanigans on the FCF result in real life behaviours and actions....you came up with not just Cranfield but a decent steeplechase around your manor!

My photography theme was churches with clocks mainly...

Pick of the ones are this blue face in North Crawley

Cranfield again but from a different angle:

Whaddon Church - A village with a lot of WWII code-breaking history:

And my own home town church... Very hard to get a good shot of it as the trees obscure most angles...

I took many more churches, many with clocks, and they can be viewed in one of my Flickr Albums

Finally, many villages in Bedfordshire have these signs, erected in 1951 to celebrate and pay tribute to the Festival of Britain...

A nice touch I think and rather special...

I've now beaten my all-time record for the maximum distance ran in a pair of running shoes :)
A good total...
A good total...
The Brooks Glycerins I favour are seriously good shoes and my current high-mileage pair are still as good as new :)

I know an old proverb says something about walking a mile in my shoes but...

Running shops don't like me much as I make my shoes last so well... One staff member at our branch of Up and Running call me 'Twinkle Toes' 😂

Wondered if Brooks running shoes were related to Brooks Saddles...but apparently not....but maybe the name connection seeped into your subconscious Jim when choosing your brand of shoes!

Are you suggesting Jim got saddled with them Neil? :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
