Getting back to cars...

Today I have received Daffodil's V5C and my train tickets to go and collect her on Thursday :D

DVLA have rather excelled themselves with both speed and efficiency :D

DVLA are very efficient if the change of keeper is done online, like within a week. However when I bought the hilux with no v5 it took 3 months for them to send it to me. What was annoying was the place I bought it from discovered they did actually have the v5 and sent it to me, which would have let me do it online. Both v5s arrived in the same post! Bloody typical!

They are Davie but not so efficient at refunding tax... I know from personal experience and many others who report the same...

Today Robyn's C1 has been receiving some TLC in the form of a full service and pre-MoT :) She's in excellent condition but will need some tyres for the MoT...

This little C1 was a jolly good buy and has served Robyn (and me!) very well over the years. They are good little cars...

Robyn excelled in her supervisory role

I'm happy to report Daffodil has arrived safe and well at the point where I shall be collecting her from later this week :D

I'll make sure to get the Activa collected before you're back with the new car so you don't run out of space - and will poke Steve again while I'm at it! It's a shame his efficacy doesn't match yours...

Scrapped the C5 on Friday pm and registered the Civic the following morning.
Refund came on the following Wednesday and V5 on Thursday.
I was quite surprised, expected it to be far longer.

Zel, there's no rush as Pix is currently living on a neighbour's drive ;)

Your Activa is fully accessible at all times so collect whenever good for you. As I say, no rush at all :)

Hope Steve can soon MoT it for you [-o<

Yep. Not roomy, not very comfortable, poor visibility and I manage to stall it frequently.
The C5 was a far better car in almost every respect, even the much praised handling/roadholding.
The only reason for the change was the ruinous cost of getting it through another MOT - would have been more than I paid for the Honda.
I am having some regrets now.

I was lined up to buy a Mazda 6. Went to my mechanic to let him know I wasn't going to be MOTing the C6 and that I had my sights set on a Mazda and he pointed to the Civic, which was in bits, and said "What about that"?
Said OK, went home and transferred the money into his account, the hardest part of the whole affair - bank blocked it in case it was a scam :(

Never test drove it. He fixed everything and put it through an MOT, full service of course. As cars go it is OK, just not an hydraulic Citroen. For which there is no substitute.

I think that is why I got another C5 Steve. They just suit me and what I do. Another one will turn up for you.

The lack of available parts is something that deters me. I doubt I will be buying any more cars now.
Don't like anything more recent than the Mk. 1 C5 either.

A nice friendly greeting from a motorist this morning after speeding through a chicane and not giving way to four of us cyclists when we had clear right of way

A 40 limit on is in force on this road and he was well exceeding it...

I take it that if you turn it up the right way you have to leave it on the underside of a shelf, otherwise it falls towards the ceiling? :D

Perhaps you should carry cans of spray paint and become impromptu banksy's.
