The only trouble Jim will get himself into is not stopping and keeping on running!!!
That's already a standing joke in our local running and cycling community Roger... People reckon I can't properly drive my Garmin and end up getting lost

I'm well known for turning a 5 mile ride into a 35 mile one and turning a planned 5K morning run into a Half Marathon......

It won't be long before he enters the "Marathon Des Sables".
Funny you should say that Roger

The MdS is very much on my bucket list to do and I've studied it intently, as I have the UTMB (Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc) and the Dragon's Back race across the spine of Wales

Amazon Prime has two amazing documentaries on the Dragon's Back race... One features the erstwhile Radio 2 sports correspondent and Chris Evans' mate Vassos Alexander... He's also written a very dangerously seductive book on ultra running...
But for Covid I was planning to do the Race to the Stones (RTTS) this year. That's a 100 mile ultra along the Ridgeway to the Avebury Stone Circle...
Ultra Marathons are very different to normal Marathons... Much walking, drinking, resting and eating is involved

In fact running only makes up part of it and you never run fast. An ultra is all about endurance and that's my speciality... Think of an ultra marathon as being like a very long Audax ride...
Other things on my bucket list include a trek to Everest Base Camp, a bike ride up Mont Ventoux and a bike ride to the tip of Cap Formentor in Majorca.
I've completed all these as virtual activities and have the medal for one of them

- EBC Trek Medal
I'd like to summit Everest or K2 but I know that will always be just a dream...
