Re: Citrojim's Pixo, Saxo and Cycling Tales
Have to say your award makes my 2 "long distance" trophies for attending the Cadillac Big Meet (in Austria) pale into insignificance - not that it'll stop me trying for the hat-trick next year.

Jim,,
It's converting a large garage into a house, having lots of fun submitting the plans but hope to start in April.
The house is in the Haute-Garonne region, with Toulouse being the biggest city and very near the Pyrenees.
Hence the need to get my bike legs back

Re: Citrojim's Pixo, Saxo and Cycling Tales
Although the trend here for some time now has been converting the garage into a spare room, just love the idea of converting a garage into a house (even if it has been done on a smaller scale in Princetown) - my son has long thought what I need is a (decommissioned) village garage with small cottage on site!
The very same son who, at 6 months, was taken in a carrycot in the back of my 1st P6B to a gite near Toulouse, to Andorra, on into Spain, back into France, & the gite (a day out, turned into dinner too late/far away to return, overnight in Andorra & a 200 mile Spanish excursion). Still my only car to have crossed the Pyrenees AND the Alps.

Monday's may be my last bike ride for a while I fearAt least until this silly weater goes away... I love my cycling and not much stops me but the risk of ice and falling with broken bones as a very likely outcome is not for me! I'm not completely mad... Not Quite

Just to say I'm still about and OK... My mental health is very poor at the moment and too mentally exhausted to be able to digest the FCF at this time... Hopefully I'll be back in due course...
See you sooner rather than later, hopefully...

Re: Citrojim's Pixo, Saxo and Cycling Tales
Good to hear from you Jim, echo what James said in his post.
Inspired by your cycling activity I finally rescued my bike from the junk cupboard yesterday, and did a lovely short ride in the countryside. You probably wouldn’t class it as proper cycling. Went at an absolute snail’s pace, stopped every five minutes to mooch and take pictures, and walked it up any sort of incline.
That’s my style of cycling and have to say a lovely way of spending and hour on a beautiful day.
Regards Neil

Re: Citrojim's Saxo and Cycling Tales
Be afraid, very afraid... I may be back on the forum
My last run before things all went a bit unplanned... This was to be not only the last race for me in the first half of 2020 but for the whole world!
It was a good one...
And my last competitive bike ride on March 1st... For a while anyway...
Shame is that all this was in preparation for me going for the duathlon (10K run, 40K bike and a 5K run) championships in my age group this year... Sadly all on hold until 2021 but I still hope to compete in one duathon event in October.
EDIT: Sadly, all the kit and bike in the picture above no longer exists... The only bit that survived was me!!! Lots of very expensive kit lost as it had to be cut off me. A small price to pay for my life...

Can you do Mont Ventoux on Zwift ? If so, I'd suggest sticking the back end of the turbo trainer in a vat of treacle for the full effect
