A most interesting day today... Firstly I gave my new bike lights a proper test at 05:45 this morning in the dark and mist and they are just awesome... Definitely better than a Xantia headlight!
I called DVLA today about my Activa V5C document I've not received. They claim to not have received the letter and supporting paperwork I sent them by post 6 weeks ago

There's no problem in me getting a new V5C but we now have to start all over again from scratch. They are allegedly now writing to me. The worry is I will have to respond to them by post so this time I'll do a proof of posting and signed-for with my reply...
This is the third time I've had V5Cs and correspondence with DVLA now go astray...
I also had a slight concern that due to what happened with the failed sale that some shady business may be afoot with the private plate on the Activa. A web search duly showed it to be for sale

At £2400!!!
I called the mob offering it for sale and they said they did not have it but only advertised on behalf of another firm. Indeed the plate was advertised as for sale on the other firm's site too. I called this firm and spoke to a very helpful lady who explained that they leave all plates for sale until advised otherwise. She checked the records and found my plate was first offered for sale by them 10 years ago and was happy to accept it was mine... Good to her word she removed all reference to the plate being available from their website almost immediately...
I remain a little worried that the plate may be at risk whilst I'm not the registered keeper of the car. I'm not sure exactly where I stand if the current registered keeper was to try to sell the plate... Any advice?
I then met my girls in Milton Keynes and had a lovely lunch with them. I was glad I biked there and back as Newport Pagnell was totally grid-locked due to the M1 closure. Speaking of which, it's surreal to see the whole of the M1 empty of all traffic when riding over bridges across it!
I spent much more time with my girls than planned and ended up being out all the afternoon!
