Indeed I do, Jim. You're some 100m from coastal erosion and you'll no doubt hear the breaking surf as you bed down for the night.
When I was in Highcliffe, it had a very relaxing effect at night, I do miss it's "lullaby".

Your parts are in the boot ready for delivery, but the driver's taking a sicky today, unfortunately.

I haven't actually been to bed as my elderly cat suddenly developed a severely bloated stomach last night and following the vet consultation first thing, the prognosis is not looking too good either. Further tests booked for Thursday but the last 12hours has typically left me drained and this brings elevated soreness and pain levels as a bonus. Too tired to think straight and the only hope of improving is sleep though it's 50/50 if I'll feel better or worse after. Hopefully the latter and I'll get to see you tomorrow?

I've already had a good look at the erosion Mike, it's got a lot closer to the caravan quite recently by the looks of it... Going to don running kit again later and go and have a better look but already it's good to get some sea air in my lungs

Let me know when you can make the delivery and I will make you very welcome in my temporary home... They have a good looking little cafe here for a coffee.. I have nothing suitable for you in the caravan to drink

Unless you like Rooibos tea or a latte made with almond milk and camp coffee... No, thought so

I guess parking here is easier than at your gaff... The traffic around here is dreadful... The A337 on a bike is quite an experience. I kept on ending up on it during a bike ride earlier despite trying hard to avoid it

I believe those cliffs are sacrificial due to the ongoing work to protect the coast further west at Highcliffe and Christchurch.

The cat has been borderline sick for some time now with liver disease. This new development kidney failure, is I suspect the final act for her. The scan booked for Thursday will likely confirm the severity, is the message I took away from the vet today. But she does surprise us all (vets and nurses) in the way she still enjoys her life in general despite the chronic illness and she's now on a dose of anti-biotics that might see some further improvement for a while.

Ah, the cafe coffee sounds tempting though I'm quite familiar with a bottle of camp (mum used to drink it when I was a nipper) and I use soya for my tea so maybe I will ask to try a Jimbrew

Parking can be a PITA round here, despite ours being "private", depends on the hour really.
Yep, the silly season means we're flooded with holidaymakers (there's a short-lived lull when the savvy locals bugger off just before) and it's now heaving everywhere as the holidaymakers are all eager to travel, spend and consume at an accelerated rate. Life is fun in the sun.

I've ridden the A337 from NM to Lymington and back when hunting for cars and it's scary as hell in some parts due to narrow lanes and speed of traffic.
The main arteries and holiday hotspots will be busy and being coastal means everyone pretty much has to travel the same main routes East to West and vice versa. I couldn't believe it when I discoverd that "Bypass" here in Christchurch means go straight to the centre of town!

I don't know how much you want to explore new areas but have you been West as far as Mudeford Quay? You can pretty much travel to it all along the coastline (or near enough). There's a little ferry you can hop on and get to Hengistbury head which is an ancient (bronze/stone/iron age) spit and SSI with no traffic other than a novelty land train and very, very (£280K anyone?) expensive beach huts. Beware the odd naturist though. They're harmless but can shock some folk.

Parking is easy here in Naish...

I've spent some time studying an OS map I found in the caravan and have now identified back-roads that should be a bit less busy...

Not looking for new places Mike, I can no longer assimilate new stuff so I'm sticking firmly to what I know and revisiting old haunts and reliving happy memories of when we used to spend loads of time down here when the kids were little...

Luckily, there are large tracts of the New Forest I know well and all quiet roads too...

Really looking forward to having a good old natter and catch-up

Holiday is going brilliantly... A bit wet today but it didn't stop me running 7 miles in the wind and rain

Got soaked but it saved me showering

The caravan has a very leaky skylight in the kitchen but not fixed that yet... I don't think I have enough kit with me... I returned from my run to find a very wet kitchen floor... A bucket is now catching the drips

I have fixed a leak in the kitchen sink this morning though...

Drier now so off out on my bike in a bit for a little ride...

I think I would have chosen to go swimming rather than running when raining but that's me.

Just went to look at a (S plate) petrol pug 306 GLX for my nephew to replace his knackered VW caddy. Doesn't look too bad for it's age (mileage 125K) though I'm not sure what engine size. The MOT history doesn't give that info. Can't view until tomorrow eve and he's chasing a couple of Fords locally (one in Walkford the other in New Milton).

James, I really appreciate the offer but it's a job well beyond me as it means getting up on the roof and that's something I can't do due to my severe vertigo...

Just returned from a bike ride... It was so windy along the seafront I was cycling in italics....

French or German is largely a matter of taste (or comfort-v-engineering) but, as versatile as a 306 might be - as a replacement for a small van???

Stlll VW to Ford seems a retrograde step - or am I letting my prejudices show?

It's been absolutely excellent and rounded off perfectly enjoying a meal out with James (Elma) in a cliff-top restaurant overlooking the sea

Best holiday I've had in years

Done me a world of good and a big, big life decision has been made

His work no longer requires a van so just a cheap runabout will suffice. His predicament is desperate so any car will suffice. To quote him on Wednesday, "even a corsa will do.."
