Would have been faster but for some very heavy two-wheeled traffic on parts of the course  Especially on the narrow cycleways within Milton Keynes; they're not made for pelotons of several hundred to ride along them at pace!!!

Always the way on mass events. I used to like starting at the back and seeing how many positions I could make up. This tactic always saw me fall foul to traffic. Starting further forward was bad for me though as I'd keep pace with faster people and wear out mid event.

I received the new pulley for the 207's auxiliary belt tensioner yesterday...

Bloody good service. It came really quickly from Lithuania, it was well packed and is a Magnetti-Mineralli one so a decent make on the face of it...

Certainly good for a total outlay of £13.50 as against the £110 or so for a complete tensioner :D

Please tell me thats a slip of the keyboard and not a rip off of Magneti-Marelli.
Unfortunately I've seen to much rip off junk in recent years to assume it's just autocorrect or a spelling mistake.

Yes, a slip of the keyboard James... Here's the proof ;)

Even the tensioner is clearly marked...

Replaced the disc pads on Sian's Pixo this afternoon... I have honestly never encountered a more straightforward or easy job... All done in 20 minutes :)

Checked the rest of her car over and all is good... The little Pixo, although a bit crude and not exactly a wonderful driving experience, is proving to be a cracking little car and it's doing a fine job for her :)

Still looking good. Sian is very gentle on it and looks after it well :)

Checked over my cars today too and all is good... Activa had her normal run-up to temperature to keep the battery topped up and a dose of citarobics to keep the suspension good. She'll be off to the National rally next weekend and Gabriel won't move now until she takes me off on holiday in a couple of weeks..

The Pug's auxiliary belt tensioner seems to be still OK so no immediate action needed there just yet...

One of my neighbours remarked he does not see me working on cars very often now... Had I lost interest? No, just no real need to with the mileage I'm presently doing... Pug has done about 15 miles this past week and that's been it!

All cars checked over with a special emphasis on Gabriel as she's taking me on holiday on Monday.

I checked her fans are working too...

No issues or problems found on any of the cars :) Not surprising, given how far they travel these days

Also serviced my bike ready for the holiday.

Just got to pack and I'm all ready for the off :D

Looking forward to it immensely...

I most certainly will James, complete with pictures... It may be very bike-heavy ;)

Thanks for what arrived in the post this morning :D Made my day and gave me a heck of a good giggle!!!

Most of the birthday cards I've received this year have had a comedy cycling theme but yours is the best ;)

I hope it was effective as the one from last week?

I have come up with a silly dialogue between the cyclists, if it would help further.
