Amongst many other tasks today, I gave Robyn's C1 a pre-MOT as it's due it's first one...

No problems at all except the front nearside tyre is on the tread-wear limits whilst the OS still has a fair amount of tread...

This is 'MK Roundabout Syndrome' and is common on cars that spend their life driving around Milton Keynes :)

Apart from that, I'm very gratified and pleased to note how the car is wearing... Apart from being a bit grubby, it's still immaculate...

Interestingly, Robyn briefly drove the Pug of Love to make space on my driveway for her C1 and she assured me in no uncertain terms she would never want the 207 back; both of us rate the C1 as a far superior car in every possible way...

She does still bemoan the lack of 'toys' in it but puts its general character and eco

May I suggest uniroyal rain expert if you are getting two new tyres for it Jim. They are brilliant on our 107 despite the absolute abuse it gets from Shaun. The fronts done 14k now and still more than 1/2 tread left. Thats the standard 155/65x14 size although its on alloys, they are the same size as the steels.

P'raps MK cars should have different size tyres side-to-side, a la NASCAR.

A Toyota's better than a Citroen, never thought I'd read that, here of all places!

Well, sorry but it's true in this case. I can't speak for any other Toyota but the late series 1 Aygo/C1/107 are absolutely brilliant little cars in every way...

It's a pretty much universally held opinion...

No, his downfall was brandy and amphetamines ;)

I've not perfected that 'art' just yet...

We have been warned that doing it on the Tour of Wessex will result in our disqualification....

Rightly so too...

An excellent weekend has just been enjoyed :)

Gabriel did a fantastic job to taking me to Somerset, very possibly for the last time ever, to take part in the Tour of Wessex cycle sportive which started and ended at my old school and rode around my old childhood haunts and then some...

For the very first time in my life I visited Cheddar Gorge and rode up it on my bike ;) That experience was utterly awesome and will live in my memory for ever :D Cheddar Gorge is steep!

I was just one of a few very long, steep climbs on the ride!

It was a cracking good ride and here it is on Strava:

https://www.strava.com/activities/1008502257

80 miles of ferocious hills and technical descents! The stuff of cycling pleasure :D

This was the scene at the start: Barely 10% of the total of the riders taking part!

Many thanks to Alasdair (Stickyfinger) for looking after me on Friday and generally acting as my soigneur and cooking the most fantastic meal on Friday evening :D One of Alasdair's secret talents... He is a chef of some repute ;)

Alasdair, without your splendid assistance I could never have done it!

And that's it for travelling... I will not not be straying far from home again... A fitting end and one that'll live on in my memory for ever :D

Good for you, Jim. It might've been a good day for you but for many of us, I suspect, it was an inspiring achievement - of which you should be justifiably proud.

For all that, & in no way wishing to detract from it, somehow your post left me feeling rather sad but also realising that seeing those cyclists toiling up the 1 in 4 (sorry, 25%) hills on Dartmoor will never be the same again.
