If the relay trigger or the relay itself broke but the wiring was sound from the live to the relay block and from there to the fans you could bridge it that way?

You could indeed but a wiring diagram is essential to know what to bridge!!!chinkostu wrote:If the relay trigger or the relay itself broke but the wiring was sound from the live to the relay block and from there to the fans you could bridge it that way?
Else you risk a lot of sparks

Just been helping a near neighbour swap lower swivel joints on a Renault Scenic...
What a game!
For future reference, how on earth do you remove the wishbones entirely? I ask as we still need to do the other side and that would make the whole job so much easier...

Actually I know the answer because you asked. It's a Mk2, you have to drop the subframe slightly to get clearance to remove the bolt. Mk1s are easy so you probably wouldn't be asking.

Thanks James, that makes great sense looking at it as the front bush through-bolt fouls the bodyshell...
Is the subframe easy to drop? I ask as to do the balljoint it's a lot easier if the wishbone is off the car and I can put it in my press...
EDIT: It's an 08 plate so I'd assume MK2...

I've not done it myself yet Jim. I've only had to do a track rod end on a Mk2 so far, 08 is definitely Mk2. Theres a good guide on Renault Forums and some videos on utube. Sorry but I don't have time right now to search them out for you. From what I understand it shouldn't trouble you greatly.

The Scenic's swivels are all done now Owner clearly appreciated my help and lend of tools.. He replaced the G Cramp we damaged doing the job and gave me four boxes of speciality herbal teas
I was absolutely delighted... I never, ever mind helping out with such jobs when rewards like that come my way
Taking it a little easier this weekend in readiness for dad's funeral on Monday. I'm not running a parkrun tomorrow but I am marshalling. Parkrun only works because of volunteers and I felt it was time I did.. Each parkrun needs a minimum of 24 volunteers to enable it to take place and I felt it was about time I did.
Next Saturday I'm volunteering as a tail-runner which means I'll get to run but very slowly as the last runner to ensure all other runners are OK and safely make it to the finish-line... Much encouragement is sometimes needed to be given and it may well take up to nearly an hour for new runners to complete the 5K...
It's a role akin to the voiture balai or 'broom wagon' sweeping up the stragglers in the Tour de France which, incidentally, was always traditionally a role performed by an H Van back in the good old days...

Re: Citrojim's Xantia Activa, 1.9TD and Bike Tales
A new set of wheels has joined the fleet, another two-wheeler especially to provide transport to and from parkruns. Such a trip cannot be made on my normal road bikes for several reasons, the main ones being they are unsuitable for riding the rough and poorly maintained MK cycleways and too valuable to leave chained to a tree in a wood not to mention I can't ride them in running shoes!
This new one does the job a treat!
Yesterday I was a parkrun marshal. It was interesting to observe the parkrun from a marshalling point about 1.5Km from the end and watch in awe as firstly the elite athletes flew past and then at the end, the ones gamely struggling to finish their runs. The latter group gained huge respect from me as you could see they were all going about it with real and genuine grit and determination. Quite humbling really and even more so was when I joined the two tail-runners to escort the last runner home and across the finish line. She may have taken over an hour to do it (compared to the 18-20 minutes taken by the leaders) but she did and we were all absolutely delighted.
Much the same next Saturday as I'm one of the tail-runners...
Today I was feeling a bit down with the prospect of dad's funeral tomorrow so I took my Activa out for a joyride I don't drive my Activa very much these days but my goodness, when I do really love it and appreciate what a wonderful car it is!
Tomorrow Robyn is driving me to the funeral in her C1... I'm really pleased I'm not driving...
The transport to the funeral proper is going to be in a C5 X7. Looking forward to riding in an X7 enormously

Very posh for the duties it'll be doing Jim. Those handlebars look sad, please rotate them to a happier position.
